Don't worry, I've blocked Manga UP! and K MANGA groups and poof, they're gone from Latest Updates (you could do same). Those two were trying to poach the readers from this site and those sites requires membership to read as well.

I looked at Manga UP!'s page, it looks like they have on-site currency to "unlock" new chapters.
Did another surge of copyright attacks bring this on?

You max out with 25 blocks, though. And I already have 25 groups blocked.

First I learnt that's a cap of group block, never hit that limit myself I guess

what groups/reason are you blocking to reach the cap? just curious
also, just swap an inactive group(2) out of the 25 with the up manga and K manga

My biggest complaint with Manga UP! is that they carve chapters into super thin slices. If the original publisher had a chapter in 2 parts, Manga Up! will split it into 6. The breaks end up making no sense and mess with the reading flow. Their naming scheme also breaks aggregators numbering, so a title with only 30 chapters will be spammed and look like it has 192 chapters.

Yeah they did another surge of strikes just before this upload wave. They also split chapters up like crazy! Some of my series are split into 5 mini chapters, talk about greed.

require onsite coins to latest chaps
grabs titles that are already been translated

pretty scummy but oh well, mangadex allow it. Kinda funny how this site's been pushing users to use agregator sites... Oh well

As much as I would love to support the industry, companies like Square Enix really makes it hard for me to justify it. They make it feel like I've gone to one of those dodgy scanlators' websites with how they push me to join and purchase 'coins'. "HURRY THERE'S A SALE JUST ABOUT TO END!" but there's always a another one right behind it.

One of my main gripes outside of this is that they link to chapters that you can supposedly read, but if you do not have an account (that you can only register through their app with) then you just get dropped on the main page of the manga. I hope that mangadex can enforce some type of system where they have to make the chapters available to us through the link, otherwise they cannot update the main manga page (ex. Overshadowed to Overpowered shows that I can read changer 28.4, but you get redirected to the main page even when logged in)

If Dex is going to push these links so hard, I would love to see a forum section where we can discuss official publisher sites so we can sort the good from the bad.

I don't mind paying a subscription as long as the pricing is reasonable, the translations are good and there is no censorship.
