Hanabi is effective against Ayana because she's been (and somewhat still is) where Ayana is. Hanabi's first steps towards redemption is to make sure Ayana doesn't do the same crazy stuff she did.

Should've made a series centered on these two. Two girls, both obsessive to the point of borderline Yandere toward different boys. Both of their relationships are failing, and both are trying to use twisted methods to get their men back and keep them bound through different but equally awful methods, using the same third boy as a tool. And every step of the way the two of them are constantly throwing insults at one another, deriding how cruel, underhanded or completely obvious their plots are. Heck, could even use that to have them grow as people, as they forcibly expose the worst parts of one another. Doesn't even have to have them grow in a positive way into girls who are confident enough to live without the dependence of the boys they like or girls who are kind and caring, maybe have them develop into even more effective villains as they take to heart not how they should be better people but how they should be smarter in their schemes. Could make for some good comedy as well as drama.
