I'll say it again, it was just sloppy edgy harem bait from chapter 1.
None of the characters even have any real reactions or interactions among themselves. The characters are written to be two dimensional caricatures of stereotypical roles. If the author can't even add depth to any characters, there is no way they can add scenes that need sensitivity and delicacy to deal with.
