Sylphy's low self-esteem in combination to putting Rudeus on a pedestal are author's way to make Rudeus' harem believable. In fact all 3 wives have level of low self-esteem and having too high of opinion of Rudeus that they resign to accept if Rudeus happens to marry multiple women (on top of nobles being known to be degen in this world). Order in which Rudeus marry also matters, if he married Eris first, she wouldn't let him marry another woman and she'd satisfy him sexually to the point of exhaustion most likely. Not sure about Roxy, maybe? Rifujin really put a lot of thought and care into the story.
Rudy also has low self-esteem, so they all match lol

It's understandable for Roxy and Eris because he literally saved their lives, while for Sylphie, Rudy is her first savior. This is also why Rudy thinks so highly of Roxy.

Later in the story we will see that Sylphie does not think that highly of Rudy anymore, but she still loves him very much; she just does not put him on a pedestal anymore, which is what Paul wanted to happen in the first place by separating them.

I'm very glad Eris is not the first (and only) wife, because she would not be able to handle what Rudy needs to do later in the story by herself.

If anything, I'd want to see Eris again only for her to realise the damage she did Rudeus by leaving and see how happy he's now without her.
You guys all talk like that was her intention rather than Rudeus' own stupid misinterpretation of her letter. He could have saved himself a lot of pain if he would have sat for a minute and thought things through.

I do, and understand why she did it. It's just not enough excuse and she didn't care about explaining properly. She could have waited until the next day and explain things properly to Rudeus face-to-face, making sure it's her own decision and not his fault in any way. Instead, she left before he woke up leaving only a badly written letter which didn't explain shit after both their first times and all they went through during and after the years-long journey back.

So yeah. "Cool motive, still murder", as I heard somewhere.
The letter wasn't really that obtuse. Rudeus jumped to an erroneous conclusion and ran with it, rather than rereading and thinking about it.

They spent a special, intimate night together, and the next morning she left a note saying they weren't good together. After being devastated and dejected he should read the letter that made him that way again?

"Dearest Rudy,

I'm sorry for leaving you like this after the wonderful night we spent together, but as I am now, I pale in comparison to your abilities. I am leaving you to train and I didn't want you to stop me. I will return when I am more worthy to be by your side, please don't look for me.

I love you ♡
Eris"

That is how the note should have been written to avoid confusion. Instead she was cryptic and thought that he just understand what she was trying to say.

.... So, why did Eris leave on her journey again ?
To become stronger.... because, she wanted to defeat that guy that almost killed Rudy ??
Why did he try to kill Rudy again ?

"She left saying we weren't a good match." Well, Eris was always shit at writing, so of course her saying 'I need to be stronger so I am not a burden to you' came across as a Dear John letter...

Sylphie saying she could handle more wives is basically some kind of flex. If Rudeus brought home the Princess or Nanahoshi, Sylphie would NOT be OK, not one bit.

Thanks for the scanlation!
That's because they have to love Rudy around her level. Nanahoshi doesn't love Rudeus although she is grateful towards him. The princess, her true love is the throne and only the throne.

You're missing her perspective. From her PoV she forced Rudeus into sex (Ch.52) which to us being in his inner monologue all the time seems ridiculous, but it's the truth. She was ashamed of herself and couldn't bear to face him.
