It wasn't just Azz and Clara; all of the Misfits would be a million miles away from each other.

Lied would have just been too absorbed in his games, ignoring the world around him.
Sabro would have probably been killed or severely hurt by his pride early on.
Soi would have just stayed in the background, wrapped up in his family's duty.
Caim would have most likely been kicked out of school for his harassment and brought shame to his family.
Gaap would have just tried and failed to gain friends.
Agares would have just slept his way through school, alone and unbothered.
Elizabetta wouldn't have discovered friendship in her pursuit of love.
Kerori would have kept her head down and probably wouldn't have been able to help melt her family's icy hearts.
Andro would still be in the shadow of his brother, and probably have wound up more like him.
Allocer... well, he probably would have just gone through school without much ambition.

All of their fates were altered by meeting Iruma, and regardless if he's a human, he is their friend, as he's always been, and always will.

Obviously this is an important moment for everyone in the class, but I think it's worth pointing out 2 demons in particular:

• Sabnok dreams about becoming the next Demon King, so defying Border Patrol puts him at risk of being ineligible. Plus he doesn't know yet, but this will put him directly against his uncle Baal.
• Kerori isn't just risking her future like everybody else, she is risking her whole career as a top idol, since being arrested would mean her identity gets revealed and it all comes crashing down.

They all are making incredibly hard choices, and the writing fully justifies why. Nishi continues being a master at her craft.

Um...Soifon will also be going against his prodigious brother that taught him how to use his power.
And while she's not on the 'evil' side, I believe Lied's sister is a high-ranking demon border patrol. Also a prodigial individual with some really serious torture ability.

I wonder though. Like, the writing explains WHY they would want to help Iruma and the friendship between all of them has been carefully developed. But in this case they are not just rushing to aid Iruma like usual nor risking only their lives. They are going against demon ICE and taking action that might disrupt order in the netherworld. Consequences doesn't stop at getting harmed, they might put their families in danger as well whether they succeed or fail. Of course this manga would hardly take such a darker turn, but I was hoping for some hesitation or at least that one single step back before last minute change of mind trope.

To be fair, Balam had to spell out the exact consequences to Azz and Clara. Something Azz here neglected to do in detail, only outlining the scope in vague terms. Personal growth or not, you can't expect de-facto kids to properly think those things through unprompted. Hell, a lot of IRL adults wouldn't think about the potential danger to those around them, at best thinking about personal danger. So while this chapter gives us a nice "aww" scene, there's a non-zero chance for at least some of the Misfits to have some belated realizations in the future. Not enough to back out maybe, but enough to keep things spicy.

Holy… this chapter legitimately made me tear up so bad. The misfits class is truly the best family one could ask for

I am interested in how the rest of the misfits handle the 'so yeah Iruma's a human' angle of all this. The decision to break here and then have the silver week gap feels pacingwise a good layout if anybody in the class gets more complicated feelings on it...?
I could easily be wrong and everybody tanks it fine, but with Shax's sister and Sabnock...? Hm.

So it's going to be corrupt demons against the misfit class. Is this going to be like Naruto and marvel comics were each person has to fight 1 on 1. This Arc is going to be long. Misfits assemble!

Well there's our answer for how this arc is going to end: Iruma's birthday is coming up so after they save him and everyone recovers from whatever shonen madness happens in the process they throw him his birthday party so we can have a ray of sunshine following the darkest arc in the series.

....I know this is unexpected, but I actually hope they fail (end up splitting up or don't provide the support each other needs against the demons they end up against, so bad matchups all around), and Iruma ends up going back to the human world, even if just for a short time. I want the villain's plan to actually work out initially... and then for Iruma to come back and they blow it all apart with his help, as a united group.
