agree.... its basically an up-and-coming story of a boy of no worth, prestige nor lineage, a totally nobody become a renowned hero that is acknowledge by the duke himself and his princess. the masses (i.e the peasants/commoners) would have supported Allen as he was of their caste/class but despite all odds, managed to do the impossible. swap that around and we have cinderella story.
