Well yeah, he has his own lab where he created the biological muscle suits for the ogres ?
That's about the same level as being a surgeon.

The only fact that surprises everyone (vague spoilerish) is that he can do surgery on multiple different races.

There's a lot of things which are illegal in that world for one reason or another.
Maybe one ingredient was used for drugs, so it was banned.
Maybe another one went extinct so it was banned / impossible.

Fact of the matter is
Just about everyone will recognize him as the best surgeon out there, because he knows biology, can do surgery, can create cloned organs to replace with , use various magics to help their healing etc..
But he doesn't want to be a surgeon (or any of the other tricks he pulls off), so they have a hard time forcing him to do it.

But the experimentation needed to get their own people trained enough ... is considered unethical and immoral due to the sacrifices needed when they already have someone who can do it without more sacrifices.
They ask an expert fish chef / cutter to first show off his skills with a fish and then have a go at a crocodile until the hunter for the latter gets annoyed and starts showing him what to do to get it done the right way, to show that an expert in one field might not be an expert in a very similar field, and that someone who might be will be forced to help out of sheer frustration with their mistakes.

Basically, the MC is a real renaissance man, covering several fields (some of which haven't been shown yet in the manga)
Arborist (knows how to grows special trees), Botanist (knows how to grow different plants) , Doctor (Knows how to do surgery on several races), Alchemist (knows how to do various things considered alchemy) , Herbalist (knows how to do use plants to create various medicines, drugs and more) , Engineer (knows how to create both ground and aerial vehicles and various other magical / engineering miracles), Pilot (knows how to steer balloons over a long distance and more) , Biology (knows how to create a lot of cloned organs for various races and entirely new things to power other things he makes), Winemaker (knows the details and can create several different types of alcohol without anything to go from), Nutritionist (knows what other races can or can't eat or needs to eat to get stronger), Architect (knows how to create several types of buildings with just others assisting with actual labor), Pharmacist (knows how to do various medicines , not just limited to herbal ones).
And not really a "field" per se, but he's so far unmatched in the few sexual encounters we can read about, which includes his lower tier ogres, beastmen, elves, dwarf , human or in one case and Elite Ogre. Both by knowing their biology and by drugging himself up or by drugging them down

Basically, I can't easily remember any other MC who's even close to his multi-mastery of such a diverse range of topics without cheats, system (gain exp, get better at it etc.) or other similar aids, and even then I can't really remember anyone who stands out immediately other than maybe Nicole Cavalerio from a WH40K fanfic who could be considered to have some cheats to account for it, and she doesn't have such a wide variety of subjects either, but probably way more advanced knowledge on the ones she does have.

Hell, we get exactly 2 mentions of what others consider "A Superior Human" so far. Gaikaku and Tistria which is described as (Google translated explanation)
"From the perspective of other races, a superior human is someone who "can do anything."

Like Tistria, people of that type often don't have much attachment to their own skills or achievements.

Because you can do anything, you can give up or get bored without getting fixated on anything.

(I don't want you to think we're the same...)

Furthermore, the knights directly under Tistria, who are human elites, apparently do not want to be associated with Gaikaku or Tistria.

Other species believe that this is a characteristic of superior humans."

You wana know why that seems so impossible in our modern society?

Because we are trained to believe that specialization is the future. That you are nothing but a cog. That you will not function properly unless you work as a team.

I can think of three Renaissance men off the top of my head that while they collaborated with their peers, were multi-talented in many fields. Einstein, Franklin, DaVinci all master many divergent disciplines. So it's not that humans are not capable of mastering so many professions, it that we are told from a young age it's a waste of our time.
Okay but those guys were Geniuses and to actually be a medical doctor requires a lot of studying because shit is complicated. Specialization is necessary because shit has gotten so complicated that without specialization nothing would Advance anymore. The human body is extremely complicated and it takes a lot of knowledge to not fuck stuff up when you're messing around with it. You're essentially saying that Mitchell Hooper exist so why don't we all deadlift 100 kg?

No, this is just incorrect. True the three listed were heralded as Geniuses, that in no way should diminish the thousands of others individuals that either contributed to their work or similarly made their own contributions to humanity.

On the flpiside of that coin, while I can agree that it helps to have specialized knowledge to advance a field of study, it is the hight of ignorance to assume that only someone with that specialization could have, or can make those advancements.

Forget who said it, but it has always stuck with me. "You really should think more outside the box, because incestuous thinking only ever breeds stagnation."

Please invent a cure for cancer right now without knowing anything about tumors or cellular multiplication. Please prove your words with actions. Understand that how knowledge works is that it's cumulative and just like climbing a mountain to reach a higher Peak you have to climb the previous parts of the mountain. We are standing on the shoulders of giants climbing ever higher but you actually have to do the climb. If you're just off to the side admiring the Giants and not climbing onto their shoulders you're not really doing anything.

Strawman much? This whole conversation is about specialization versus diversified knowledge. A cure for cancer could come from any of a few dozen angles unrelated to the study of cellular mutation. Anything from foresty worker discovering that inhaling the smoke of some random tree cured their lung cancer to autopsy reports of radiation exposure leading to chemotherapy being used outright kill the troublesome growths.

All of which is turned on it head when some random dud gets an unexpected result while brewing alcohol in their basement, or combines latex rubber and sulfur in a waffle iron.

Except it literally doesn't and this just shows how little you understand about the world. You probably are still operating on the simplified High School teaching of how the world Works where they don't go into depth about anything and you just assume that that's how everything works and so everything must be very simple. Trust me buddy shit is complicated and requires years of study to understand various things. If you want to prove your point how about you become a neurological surgeon, a electrical engineer, and a plumber.

O . o;
I'm not your buddy, pal...

Why? I have no desire to go back to school to learn how to splice nerves back together or preform open brain surgery... mainly because I've already retired and the last highschool class I attended was years before the turn of the century. So I doubt anything i learned back then would have much influence over my current thoughts and opinions, if I remembered any of it at all xD.

That being said, I don't need to preform any of these feats to know they are possible. Nor does your asinine demands dispove my claims. There are plenty of individuals in history who could have and also more then a few today that could as well. So how about you actually present some solid arguments rather then spouting inane strawman bullshit.

I agree, with one caviat, some disciplines are much more difficult to master then others, also pur knowledge on the topics advanced quite a bit since Renaissance.

To master them to such a degree as the MC is showing you would need to study each of them for decades, and he seems far too young for that.

People there arguing about the MC's 'sudden surgeon skills syndrome', while I'm over here wondering how the hell elves in this world managed to even survive with how pathetically weak, feeble and incompetent they seem to be.

I can accept the ogre suits being basically biological power armor. I can accept all the other stuff. But some reason the "tada, full surgical theater at a moments notice complete with surgeons caps and gowns" just threw me.

Surgery-no-jutsu out of nowhere to beat out healing magic is funny enough on its own, but specifically this situation? Where the damage was just "got thrown against a wall at an old age and suffered blunt force trauma across her whole body"? What?

Like, if it was an arrow wound and something needed to be sewn shut, some localized procedure like that, then maybe I guess? But this isn't the type of injury you just fix with surgery at all, lmao.
