Somebody here did do the math huh.
It also depends on the lifestyle and location; I've had to explain to some naive (idiots) people about the simple math and banking/interest rates. Working at 40-60k a year isn't gonna get them to retirement and even 100k a year (under the current US administration) isn't going to either. We are seeing the highest inflation rate since the Regan era and possibly a permanent divide that will never see the "middle" class recover.
3 million at 4%/high interest savings account is about 120k (taxable) passive income per year. those savings rate at subjected to the bank's whim and could be changed at anytime. Bonds are also possible, but those are typically only 1 or 2% and will not keep pace with inflation. Passively managed funds (ETFs, Mutual funds, Hedge funds) are also an option and usually the highest returns, but ultimately depends on the fund manager's competency and honesty. The return rate of a competently managed fund is 10-14% annually, giving it the possibility of doubling a fund's wealth over 10-20 years. But if the country the fund is based in goes kaput. Well, nevermind the dollar, one would be looking at the collapse of modern civilization.

Welcome to late-stage capitalism.
Yeah, there needs to be significant income tax reform if we want to save the middle class. Any government that taxes and spends is inherently redistributing wealth, whether it's a democracy or a dictatorship. Historically that meant funding armies, infrastructure, etc.; today it also means providing for the common welfare. The problem is that financialization/late-stage capitalism and wealth inequality mutually reinforce each other to create a government where the richest can make themselves increasingly exempt from taxation through legalistic means, which undermines the government's own legitimacy since those who govern strongly overlap with the wealthiest echelons of society. The collapse of the middle and working class and the inability to retire is the ongoing consequence.

Yeah I mean this was the exact flaw in his plan that I saw. He convinced Ijuin that without the motive of supporting him, his childhood friends would quit being idols. But then he gets her to agree to support him for life, removing the need for his childhood friends to support him.

at least the premise is something new. but the mooching was nasty already (even tho they knew it) and now he's trying to ditch them after selling them out. jesus christ.
What are very on about, he has 2 idols giving him money, the maid giving money and chores free of charge, this is just a fourth source of money while doing no work

just read the other comments before answering. the discussion is already over. i simply missed the small speech bubble where he said he wouldn't stop leeching off of the other two.

Suddenly: Yanderes

Its a real bold move to kill off a character like this.

He's playing 5D chess with money girl. And getting outplayed in one move by his yandere idol childhood friends :kek:
This shit is so peak
I keep telling the haters: This shit is great because HE IS THE ONE BEING EXPLOITED. HE IS THE ONE IN DANGER.
