This entire manga is cliche with bland plot lines. I been telling yall that this manga is decently good, In between Mid and Peak. Overhyped, Overrated

I like this as an explanation for his insecurity. Its a very understandable phenomena and its effectively simple. Not anything new but the wheel doesn't have to be reinvented every story. He's been compared to, and compares himself to, his "naturally talented" sister so much he feels inadequate in everything.

Kurose will BOMB the piano and that made him shrivel up. gng its been 4 years and UNLIKE the piano incident you have people who ACTUALLY support you. Bland story line to have Haimiya come, clease your insecurities, and save the day. It isn't genuine since this is the ONLY reason why the guitar ark has been brought up, I bet MONEY that after this festival MC will stray away from instruments and we won't hear from the music club ever again

We all figured it was something like this. As most have noted, no groundwork laid for this, no hint of reluctance or nervousness about performing publicly or with others when approached about playing previously, no mention of past trauma or issues with family (no mention of anyone's family at all to this point iirc), including in Kurose's own head, which the manga gives us some peeks into. There's at least a reason being given now, but I still say this is an unearned tone shift that was handled poorly.

But i'll also leave it at that- bro clearly has decided part way through that he wants to write a slightly different story than the one he started. Hence the new characters and shift to a longer, bi-weekly publication. I'm still down for it and interested so let's see what's cookin going forward.

EDIT: I was way off- you do see Kurose's sisters at least twice, once when they help dress him for the date, and again when he's moping after Haimiya tells him off.

They only dropped the tiniest of hint from the extra iirc. It mentioned both he and his sister can play guitar but their mom can not.

Edit: Never mind. I double checked and confirmed I mixed things up. He has two sisters. The older one can’t play guitar but the younger one can. I did notice that the older sister Sora seemed hesitant to talk to him.
