Okay, as I expected, this manga kind of got derailed after chapter 111. The last arch is one of the most elongated entrance exams arch I have ever seen in a manga. Yamada became sillier than expected and Ichikawa lost part of his own independence and almost idolizes Yamada, I guess that at least he does not say Yes to just because of Yamada, but is quite near of doing so. Also at certain point the pictures of them that are some sort of specials become just... terrible.

The main couple just... cannot talk? what the hell, a serious couple are always in talks, plan a, plan b... etc. Nah, here they are just kind of in the phone and hoping to meet randomly themselves out of nowhere. That is not how things are, not with a real withstanding couple. It just shows that the author knows not much about this.

Recently I actually watched both Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata and Watari-kun no xx ga Hōkaisunzen and both of them are much better stories than this. Is such a pity because until chapter 111 this manga really proved to be one of the best of the genre and given the fact that its end is nigh, there is not much to actually recover from the blunders made from chapter 111 until 190 (which I finally managed to catch up until now)

How did this get the suggestive tag lol.
Def one of best rom coms(and anime adaptations). Can't wait for movie. I did want a bit nore of a yamada perspective tbh.

Edit: fully caught up to ch 92. Stayed peak the entire manga (band breakup arc was weakest link imo though). Can't wait for season 3. Really hope for a sequel manga in highschool if the anime popular enough.

With it nearing it's end, I'm quite curious how Norio Sakurai will conclude this... I hope we get to see a time skip of Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada... I mean... Anna Ichikawa as a married husband and wife. Much better if we get to see their babies! Lots and lots of their babies!:love::love:

Had the potential to be one of the best romcoms ever but just ran out of steam for the last 60-70 chapters. Melodramatic bullshit at every corner, every tiny problem became some big misunderstanding that was worked through in the next chapter already and everything that was interesting about it became uninteresting.

Now that the Chapter 199 is here, I am finally saying something here for the very first time. I didn't expect much, because even the last Chapter is so melodramatic but we can't ask for more as they're middle-schoolers.

We hoped for a peek into their future, and that didn't happen. The author did mention something in the conclusion, in case if anyone misses out.

There are implications on the "spin-off", could imply that we can look forward to a series featuring the new students. As you can see in the final panel, might be something to look forward to..

Bruh, it's peak, after 60-70 we still got graet chapters. 120-140 and more. But yes, the ending didn't meet its potential, but how do you expect Norio to go for more? 8 years, bruh, 8 whole yeasr of dedication, hardwork and plot. Be honest, if it went to their 10 year time story, would you be engaged with the newly releasing and the longevity of this. No, give her some rest, she has done enough

Exactly, but I also knew why people were expecting for more. This felt like a regular rom-com plot where there would've been an implication that the pair got together til the end and in the hindsight, the author may not even focus on their future in her new spin-off ( or the one that's already ongoing, with Kyotaro's sister being the mainstream ). People just didn't get the hint that these were middle-schoolers and what they were experiencing was adolescence and they may not end up together in the future, considering the fact that Anna Yamada can always go back to her acting career and Kyotaro, can become more committed to studying, and the potentiality of them drifting apart can be present.

I like this ending, where their future can only be determined by the reader according to their own satisfaction. I also feel like she had to rush it so she can focus on the spin-off and ( who knows, she may still include Kyotaro and Anna in that series as we are also looking into the future-tense there ).

We still got something to look forward to and not complain about this ending.

I don’t understand why people think the scenes after the confession or the first kiss are bad. As soon as I heard about the final chapter, I immediately reread the entire series after stopping for a long time. It’s not that bad at all—they’re truly enjoying these moments as a lovely couple, sharing their current, future, and past challenges! I might disagree with an ending that comes too quickly and hope it could have led to something more special. But ultimately, it’s the author’s decision to choose a safe conclusion. I’ll really miss this series.
