Supernatural elements aside, intent does not erase harm done. "I didn't mean to hurt you" is an excuse of assholes IRL who try to shift the blame onto the victim for being hurt by their actions."If you were killed and you were told 'I didn't intend to do it,' would you forgive them?" Yes I would? What kind of psychopath shit is this?
Considering the supernatural side, though the story doesn't really do it enough justice, there is still going to be trauma related to her being targeted by the prince. Explaining that he wasn't himself will not erase the memories of being attacked. If I knew for certain that my killer was brainwashed and effectively not even the same person he is now that he's broken out of it, I wouldn't blame the current him at all. The female lead in this is AWFUL. I understand she's hurt, but she doesn't have an ounce of logic in her. And it makes no sense, because earlier on she even wonders how she would feel if she were the one being manipulated by the magic and people blamed her for stuff. This was definitely written by a psychopath.
That's the thing, though, you have to ignore the "supernatural elements" to push your argument. He was effectively possessed and an entirely different person, so it makes little sense for her to continue blaming him for things he didn't really do. He didn't get manipulated by the magic by choice, that was something done without his consent. For the most part, he does his best to not push her to forgive him, but sometimes she just relapses out of nowhere and freaks out at him for daring to not punish himself in perpetuity. He's taking responsibility and actively working to get his kingdom back under control, that much is enough. None of this was his fault, he was magically puppeteered. And it's not like she's put off by him, she's clearly falling for him, it's just that she gets super unreasonable with him out of nowhere even though she knows full well that he (and everyone else under the spell, for that matter) didn't do anything of their own volition. There are two parts to respond here:

I kind of got of track, but my main bone to pick was with her talking about not forgiving him. I definitely understand her not feeling comfortable around him, she can't help that and neither can he, it just is what it is and it's something he'll have to be patient with and she'll have to wrestle with. But not even forgiving him? For something he didn't do? She knows his current (and past, before the brainwashing) real self didn't do it, she says as much in her internal dialogue. She knows who he really is, they were important to each other before he fell under the influence of the spell, or at least she was important to him, the whole thing seems a bit lopsided with how she got engaged to that other guy. I wouldn't dare blame her for feeling scared, that's trauma, but she knows without a shadow of a doubt he was effectively under the possession of a witch. Not being able to forgive a man who went through that is what bothers me.I'm setting the supernatural part aside only for the first part of my argument. I'm basically saying that "I didn't mean to hurt you" isn't anywhere near a valid point in most circumstances.
I agree though that the whole thing wasn't handled as well. It mostly brought to mind Kill the Villainess in which the FL gets violated, turns back time, and had to deal with the trauma of having been assaulted by a person who has not, in fact, done so in the timeline she created as an example of how it perhaps ought to be treated.
