That detail on hinata is a nice touch, OUCH
This kind of details is what i really really like about this manga in particular, its not only fun to read, but also explores the possibilities of the scenario issues, both its social and world aspect

Im so, so glad that akane is a good mom, as well as his sisters too, one might argue with how horny they are but goddamn, any other kind of family, and this will be a much, much darker manga

I know i disliked ruri and how shes trying to ruin yuris rep, i hope she gets better, i wonder if she would have an interaction with hinata in the future, maybe even becoming friends over their shared pain and beyond that

Ruri will EXPLODE.

A bit unrelated, but jealousy is a drive to push you think of stupid things.

For example, me, a bum, with friend of high rise living, had a pretty wife, a cute dog, truly a portrayal of perfect family. Happy for him but, just once, I want to see him in miserable state, for him to face hardships in his life of seems easy mode. I wanna know what will he do, how will he live, where will he ends up?

Sounds evil yes, but so does life for being unfair.

Or forced study to cope living as 1 teen in a world of privilege 2 boys.

Ruri just need a good man to fix her.
And no comment on Hinata situation seeing how little it is shown about her. Infact, there is no showing how the guards in their own home or how is their family situation, aside from Kanaria with her LOADED status.

I think Ruri is the first girl we see in her home, and how generally is a home with 1 boy and 1 girl.

WE LOVE OLDER WOMEN!!
We know about Hinata's family : her dad seems gone somewhere no ones know and her mother is a crazy Menhera/Yandere who abused her daughter (Chapter 211). She is so crazy, she gave her own daughter the same name as the dad. The thing we don't know is, if Hinata still lives with her mother or was taken in by others relatives.

Hinata seems to have inherited her mother's crazyness (chapters 110, 121, 158, 210, 211, 214, 225, 226) and it scare her, because she doesn't want to end up like her (she often repeats "I'm not like that person", "I have the blood of that person but I'm not like her").

Also, while Kanaria's and Miku's delusions are about making babies and living a happy life being Sou's wife, for Hinata it's totally different. Her inner's thoughts show us she is obsessive of Sou, she wants him to accept her, she is afraid he'd abandon her and tend to self-loathing. That's also why she tries to keep the good girl act and keep a proper distance from Sou.

So knowing all that, I'm not surprised Hinata is feeling a little jealous of Sou's sisters and is hurt when she sees Akane pat her daughters head, a show of affection she never had once from her crazy mother.

As for Ruri, the show of affectation and love from Akane to her daughters literally destroyed her on another whole level. I wanted her to be corrected, not to be nuked this hard. I hope Sou will fix her with a headpat.

Miku is the only one among the class E guard's trio we don't know the family's situation.

I just noticed, the 6th page/panel being bright really fit how Akane may have seem for Hinata (which is just a page after)

I doubt many of us would be interested in this series of not for the shenanigans. I like the dark implications of this world though, and mixing them up with the shenanigans serves to keep it lighthearted AND make the darker aspects stand out more.

I brought it up before, but that's partly why I also like 100 Girlfriends. Every girl has their implied bad ending if they never met Rentarou.
I should have rephrased it a bit better (i just made the comment immediately).

Its not so much that i implied it being held back by the shenanigans, its that the dark implications are so interesting that i wished it touched upon it more at some point. However, this damn author sometimes barely updates and we may have to wait up to a month for one chapter. Even putting aside the fact he does upload, pages are too short for any meaningful character development or plot.

its quite slow, a reminder that i got into this manga for the delusion of a harem and im getting blue balled in terms of characters and plot development, humor and updates.

My guess is that, like Ruri, her mother prioritized her man (husband? boyfriend? Definitely not little brother like Ruri) over Hinata's well-being.
you don't even need to guess that... THIS chapter tells you everything you need to know about Hinata's mother. It's pretty much like @Jojo-san explained. She's a nutcase. A real psycho who should never have had a child in her condition. And there actually might be a damn lot of cases like her in this world. But that's just my thought on that.

Hinata's mom...
  • was (and probably is) completely obsessed with and fixated on a male named "Hinata"-kun
  • named her daughter Hinata, with different Kanji, but yeah she definitely...
  • had a reason for that - it implies Hinata-kun is Hinata's biological father, one way or the other:
she either got it "directly from the source" or maybe stole his sperm from an SCC - it's probably the former, since she
  • rambles about Hinata-kun seeing other women - he might be a guy who's full of himself and treats girls like disposable sex toys he can use and discard as he pleases. There are guys who do that. Akira implied such saying she's used to guys dumping her. And mind you, Akira is a rich and well behaved woman. It's much harder for normal women.
  • was probably drained for her money by Hinata-kun and he then dumped her (that would imply her father is a scumbag, but it could also be something else... see below.)
  • probably got pregnant without wanting it - we know Hinata's condition from R-18 - and her thoughts here imply that it is canon and common for here as well. Hinata inherited a lot from her mother, so it's very likely that her mother's body is just the same and can get impregnated easily. That in itself seems to be rare in that world - it would obviously only be a thing if she did not steal Hinata-kun's sperm from the SCC to have a kid because he ignored her.
  • likely hoped for a boy to be born so she could use the baby to tie Hinata-kun to herself. Men might act different towards their sons, probably. We don't know. But it's most likely worse - had Hinata become a boy, then her crazy mom would have treated her son as a replacement for Hinata-kun. Like I said, that person never should have had a child in the first place, because she...
  • birthed a daughter instead of a son which felt like a total loss for her. She's treating Hinata-chan like a burden because she was no use when it came to holding or binding Hinata-kun (he either didn't care and met with other girls instead or fled because he realized just how mentally sick she actually is).
  • snapped after that. She is willing to spend all her money and sacrifice everything for him to make him come back or even look her way which certainly did not work. He probably fled her and the "other women" she talks about might just be his escorts/guards. It's not unthinkable since Hinata-chans mother probably is completely deluded and has trouble accepting reality when it comes to Hinata-kun. We don't know for sure, but it's plausible.
  • completely neglects her own living conditions... just look at the state of her flat, littered with garbage scattered around everywhere. And Hinata-chan has to live in that dump as well. Poor kid.
  • is a real toxic bitch who blames her daughter for her own misery and Hinata-chan is clearly suffering from child abuse, she get's yelled at, probably beaten and certainly is not cared for, let alone given love. In a way she's similar to Ruri in many ways but also not.
With Ruri it's not that her mom is unhappy and miserable. She has a boy, so she gets money from the government. They may not be rich, but they are certainly not poor either. Ruri gets ignored completely while her mom cares for her son. Essentially that's just as bad as Hinata getting abused for not being born a boy. One thing Ruri and Hinata have in common is that both wear some sort of mask at school. Hinata plays "good girl" to not get ousted and Ruri... the deliquent honor student, whatever that entails.

When you know Hinata's circumstances then it's clear why she's so jealous regarding Akane. She's boiling deep inside, to the point where she cannot fully maintain her act - we see physical reactions. For her, becoming part of a loving, caring family and being cared for is probably her ray of hope and eventually her salvation. The real issue with Hinata is that her background makes her possessive as fuck because in her emotional state... once you have it you don't want to lose it ever again. So adding her to a harem of girls is dangerous and we saw how she tries to steal a march on them despite deeply hating this behavior. Anyhow, with girls who accept her on equal footing and like and care for her? If the guy (Sou) treats them well she might find what she's looking for even if she's not the only one.
I know i disliked ruri and how shes trying to ruin yuris rep, i hope she gets better, i wonder if she would have an interaction with hinata in the future, maybe even becoming friends over their shared pain and beyond that
I wrote about a what if and what I would plan for Ruri - now, regarding her and Hinata... In that scenario Ruri and Hinata would be best frenemies after both got assigned to Suzuki as his guards. Ruri would start calling Hinata a natural Faker since she's able to pierce through her "Good Girl" facade without effort. Both would become weirdly close, yet not friends but completely honest with each other. As a result they'd bicker all the time which would be a running gag since usually Suzuki has to stop them, nobody else could. He does it by forcing Ruri into dere-mode, which is super cute. Hinata will not work as a male guard after graduation and Ruri will play a part in that, too. She tells her to stop playing guard and use her talent for real. That was after Hinata actually played a guard student in a commercial for Konoe Academy - Hinata then gets scouted by a major agency and becomes a famous actress. She'd join Sou's harem but much later, once she's able to fully control her true, dark nature perfectly. And yes, then she'll quickly have a kid with Sou then - she won't be the first, though.

This is a great volume ender and arc finale. I love how this author can balance comedy, world building, and characters so well.

I forgot that this is a world where men are highly favored. Even Hinata's mother favors the jerk who abandoned her over her own daughter.
Even in this world, parents spoil sons more than daughters. Typical Asian family. The Satou family is rare: the mother loves her daughters despite already having a son, and she gave birth to Sakura even though she already had Sou.
Yeah, they are pretty rare, even with the previous Sou, from what we've seen, Akane never neglected her daughters

... if only the progress wouldn't be so slow. But on the other hand, except for a few things and the redo horror during this arc it's quite well done so far. He's got the art and in general a good grasp on this. The issue here is the story. Ideally he would have written something by now that lays the groundwork for the whole thing, at least along major milestones. But here it seems kissa develops most of it on-the-fly which is why the progress is slow.

As for being a great volume/Arc finale... yeah, for Ruri's side it sure is. But maybe the next chapters still go back in time a little and show what happend for the rest of Sou's day. Because usually the girls in 2-E should be super hyper and once Sou gets back to the class they might approach him with the Welcome Party,
Now there's another solid reason to actually hold one. Like a victory party since they all beat the impossible odds. I wouldn't be surprised if Sou asks to invite Ruri as a special guest, to thank her. Who knows how Ruri would react to that but she might even ask to be his exclusive guard for that event - telling herself "this guy is unreal, I need to check him out for myself"

This is probably the norm for this world: Mothers absolutely adoring and spoiling (and some most likely going way beyong that as well aka crossing several lines that you shouldn't cross as mother and son) their only son.
No wonder Suzuki was shocked to hear Sou had a little sister instead of stopping after having Sou. I really wonder why Mama-san decided on having a third child after already hitting the jackpot on her 2nd kid.

While I understand Ruri, I disagree with her methods to hurt others/drag others down. I hope she can be "saved" by Sou, but I've got a feeling she will likely stay an antagonist due her own experiences.

@Sengil I suppose Akane chose to have a 3rd child because she has so much love to give.

Dunno if she's naturally like this or if it's to compensate a potential lack of love from her mother when she was young. After all she got Sumire at 17 years old. Even if women can be inseminated at 16, it's still too young to have a child.

Or maybe Akane got a good and loving upbringing, and wanted to give the same love she received as soon as possible.

If you forget her incest fantasy, she seems to be the most proper and sane mother in this world we saw so far.

Edit: in chapter 18, Sumire explained their Mom wanted kids, so she enrolled to a parent supporting school, which is subsidized. So having kids at young age is not a problem, you can forget about my stupid theory about her having something to compensate, Akane is just a big ball of fluffy love :glee:

I personally really can't fault the author since I as a webcomic artist have a glacial pace of 1 page per month 🤣
Then again, Kisa-sensei also reuses art, which should mean faster updates...

Oh wow. Now THAT backstory was not what I ever expected. I take back anything bad I ever said about her. Heal her, Sou! We’re counting on you

Can even go darker than that: culling female babies, similar to what we do with male poultry or cattle.

Actually, that might make the most sense, but morally... well it's evil.

So uh, I guess Sou also lucked out on being isekaid here instead of that world.
You have to take into account that in such a world, a large part of society would be female, and they would undoubtedly influence how things are run. Their female instinct to nurture would most likely get in the way of such a culling, regardless of its merits.

What female instinct, instinct to go F on having kids, nurturing NOTHING, and man are nothing but cash cow?
Today female society have no need for man WHOMAN say.
