She probably took his eye so he wouldn’t have to work on the front lines anymore. A very big deal is made in the previous chapters about how he doesn’t kill anymore, implying that he only does passive jobs like bodyguard work now. It’s only when war is eminent that they try to reactivate him, seeing as they’ve tried courting Yotaka as well.

I could see her blinding him as her way of protecting Junior by culling his ability, making him ineffective for that line of work. It would also be a compelling reason as to why he’s so attached to her despite what happened in the past. I doubt it’s just a matter of begrudging respect.

You have awakened her... she is coming, as beautiful and terrible as the dawn. You will meet your doom this day.

More like:
Junior has awakened her... she is cumming, as drunk and stinky as the dawn. You will meet her hairy legs this day :meguupog:

So much doomposting about "the series is definitely ending"...
I'm not in the know on how well the manga is doing in Japan, maybe these commenters have info and that's why they're making those ominous predictions?
On the story side, I think we've barely finished skimming the surface and there's so many possibilities ahead.
What if these two criminal gangs "lose" the war by getting crippled to the point both can no longer seriously threaten the other's existence but can still operate, making the corrupt policeman's plan a complete bust? Also a vacuum of power is an invitation for a foreign group to lay claims on the city turf.
Yotaka and her beloved Junior's futures are open for lots of interesting developments. And I demand more sag, flab and pubic hair in my manga dammit!

I feel this way too, sure I get the feeling the series is nearing some form of conclusion but who knows if its just this war that's been teased since the first 5 chapters or the series as a whole.

Made a prediction about a few chapters ago that both agencies would be forced to rebuild from the ground up after the war but it really depends, although I think Yotaka's refusal to kill might play a role in it. She might beat the shit out of Kanetsuna but not kill him as sort of retribution for what he did to Junior which will give him the chance to regroup elsewhere

Also I want to see more normalish moments between Yotaka and Junior, if the series was ending then it's a shame we rarely got them just hanging out with each other. Not to mention there being some form of feelings on Junior's part that he seemingly hasn't gotten out yet.

Kanetsuna dying by Nighthawk's hand is going to be satisfying as hell but that feels entirely the endgame here because what can you do once she brings down all these syndicates? Romcom with two ex-assassins? Throuple MAYHAPS?

Considering Hawk is now pretty much a disney brand assassin and never actually kills anyone, boss %100 is not gonna die by her hands.

So Aoi wore pink while Mine wore blue last week.

Aoi knew something was wrong.

Did Kanetsuna have something to do w/ Kouhai losing his eye?

I'd say yes but in the panel of a younger Junior we see he has both his eyes so this definitely happened before he lost his eye which was likely in his late teens. My guess is that she must've found him in that state when he was working with her and suspected that someone within Murakumo had something to do with it.

Or it could simply be used to signify how broken Junior was during his time in the agency (as he was seemingly recruited when he was still a child) and Yotaka likely knew this and the grief it must've given him and maybe took his eye as a drastic measure to make sure he would never be on the field again.
