Not long ago, Roxanne was ready to beat up the elven village chief for being rude to Michio, and Sherry is openly racist towards elfs (and merchants). You gotta face it, they're not some pure angels incapable of wrongdoing (as much as Michio feels that way). And it's even debatable how correct they were in handling the situation the way they did.

I'm not making the argument they're pure or anything, I'm just saying it looks bad and was likely why when the WN went through an editor they recommended the retcon.

Also I took the Roxanne reaction to the elven chief more like a guard-dog growling at someone it thinks is disrespecting their owner.

I'm kinda interested in her elvish racism because that seems to be a change from the LN Sherry's grandfather originally lived in elvish territory and seemingly doted on his grandchild who had elvish ears
