Man, with what little backstory they gave about her so far, i cant really feel bad for kirari right now.

It seems she has a good family at least? They didnt reveal anything aside from her aspiring to be an author which can be frowned upon by trad asians.

Being so embarrassed by her mom is normal, but hers seemed more like she just projects every negative thing to her. Like what was so embarassing of handmade stuff to show appreciation (and lowkey bribe really lmao) to the only friend she has? Thats better than nothing.

So i can only see her problems as a result of her own insecurities and really low self esteem... and with that shes so easily manipulated. The type to become a blind follower in cults.

Could be the wrong environment, hasnt found any normal and good comrades that share her hobby, having a solitary school life,

I think there are pieces of intrigue set up:

• Mom was groomed by her father, which led to Touko
• The duo set out for vulnerable men to do the same for Touko
• Seems like they're searching for the right one, given how many times they've done this
• Our protagonist is being groomed for Touko to conceive.
• They are doing everything to ensure their plan goes through, with the bully being gone, his sister being under their thumb, and seemingly a way to eliminate the last potential dad
