Not making any judgements on how good or bad the guy is, but some cash and a grimoire doesn't seem like enough to betray an organization. This has the feel of something he was ordered to do by someone else.
I agree, but I don't think this series is that deep where we have to read into the etiquette of a maid. Ciel seems completely oblivious to how Karina feels about her sister and the general politics of her situation. She's more a prop than a character.

Also the girls helping her armor up look like they could join a battle too. Props to the artist for giving a Knight family servants that could double as more fighters. Could've easily just made them 'cleaning' maids
This, but unironically. There's never many wrinkled heads and too many smooth brains in positions of power in these stories. Could probably be done in 1.5 arcs
This is the kind of revenge thriller that has more potential as a real series with something like two dozen chapters. Currently, it feels like a power point presentation
