Interesting perspective, since Motoi is pretty much written to be as selfish and clueless as possible.
Needing the woman you're exploiting to point out that you're exploiting her before you feel bad about it is about as nasty a self-own as I've seen in fiction.
Sadly, I'm all caught up with the Japanese version... This chapter released on 4/28 and I try to get them out the same week if I can. Next Japanese chapter drops 5/28, so I should be able to post it here the first week of June.
I'm liking the aroace element of the story, especially since the aroace character makes hypersexualized art. There's some nice nuance as well as humor there.
I grew up in a desperately poor area and selling our eggs wasn't even floated as something to do as a last resort, but there were two...
It's been killing me not knowing what she'll do... I almost read the novel this is based on but stopped myself because I don't want it to affect how I translate the manga version, which I'm sure will have at least a few changes.
Chapter 10 shows some early signs of her maybe not going through...
I am the translator and I approve this message :)
It's one reason why this only gets 1 chapter update a month. I could probably go faster, but I like my eyes.
I certainly hope not... she certainly doesn't like the guy and the stink eye she gave him more than once makes me think she'll find some way to get away (provided he's not violent of course)

I was happy to see another Sakai Eri manga out so quickly after Shijuu Kara finished. Her calling card seems to be treating complex and emotional subjects with sensitivity, and Tsubame wa Modottekonai is shaping up to be exactly that. Glad you're enjoying it so far! :)
I'll take Gross Oversimplification for $200, Alex.

Also, they've been trying for a few years. From...
She's not well-educated, and that includes financial literacy. This is something she acknowledges, but she also doesn't want to live paycheck to paycheck, hanging by a thread. I don't like her greed but I do understand it. (I lived in poverty as a young child and since came out of it.) If you...
