I did the full translation for Shijuu kara (Starting at 40) by her... the raws get iffy by the end but the story is wonderful

Oh an aroace character! She seemed like one in her first appearance!

I do think it’s interesting how people view selling sperm and eggs differently… the process is much harder for eggs and there’s less of them but still.

I'm liking the aroace element of the story, especially since the aroace character makes hypersexualized art. There's some nice nuance as well as humor there.

I grew up in a desperately poor area and selling our eggs wasn't even floated as something to do as a last resort, but there were two sperm banks in town. I think part of that is because selling/donating eggs is painful surgery that has a lot of risks. That and the rampant corruption within the fertility industry were probably responsible for the discrepancy, at least where I lived.

In Japan, health care is subsidized and affordable, so I can understand donating/selling eggs as being more common there. It would be interesting to see the man's side of things via sperm bank donation... maybe that is something we'll get at some point.
