I think Gabe and Neil have a pretty good take on what the effects and cause of piracy actually are in most situations. If i remember correctly there's a decent amount of studies etc. that comes to a similar conclusion.
At the very least this is good motivation to properly organize my list at mangaupdates for once, so that i at the very least know which series i'm still interested in following. Have been very lazy with that since Mangadex started.

That faq section on comeso is absolutely ridiculously condescending. This does confirm that most of the big publishing companies both japanese and korean use a third party for dmca. Probably explains why it is so heavy-handed as well as they probably would have an even less nuanced view...
It seems like a common denominator here is that it is mostly publishers with manga apps like Kodansha (K-Manga) and Square Enix (MangaUp) that is behind dmca. Most likely this is to try to drive more traffic to their apps so they can squeeze out more with their shitty monetization.
Damn shame as this will just redirect people to ad-filled piracy sites instead. Taking down stuff at this level probably hurts the industry more than it helps combat piracy. Not to mention it makes discovering series more difficult for new readers.
Kmanga can suck sweaty balls for eternity. It's unavailable in almost all countries, and from what i've heard form those that can use it it's pretty shit for a paid service.
