I'm just gonna be scanning some random chapters for this. It's an anthology series, so order doesn't really matter anyway.
Sorry to those who find that annoying, but it's too much work (and too much filler) for me to want to bother doing the whole thing sequentially.
I keep renaming the chapters from what I initially put on the contents page.
This time, because "Kagayakeru Hibi" (Sparkling Days) was what the Queen song "These are the Days of Our Lives" was called in Japan.
Almost overlooking a Queen reference in a Tactics Ogre manga. Unforgivable.
Also...
My favorite chapter in a while. The old "everyone loves the protagonist" pattern usually makes for good material. Hazama Masashi's OB64 chapter was really funny as well.
A while ago I made a note that the Foul Armor set is the Japanese name for the Ogre Armors, but apparently they're a separate...
The King of the Monkeys/Boss of Monkey Mountain thing is a little nuanced. It's basically an insulting expression akin to "big fish in a little pond".
The fairy tale Denam is referring to is Tsuru no Ongaeshi.
The flavor text explaining the naming of the Hanging Gardens levels actually make for some interesting reading.
And yes, Vyce's portraits are more goofy looking in the original version.
Note that in the original game, Hobyrim was a Petrify machine. They basically nerfed that.
Apsara (from the title on page 4) was a cleric of the New Walister Alliance who joins your unit when Vyce rejoins.
She's no longer playable in the remakes, but she still appears in a cutscene.
Something to keep in mind with this manga is that it predates the remakes. So, there'll be some references to outdated gameplay features (like the MVP thing), and some characters might look/act a bit different.
But, I'll be keeping the naming conventions from PSP and Reborn, as that'll be most...
