There's similar case with the old adaptation of "Kaze yo, Banri wo Kake yo", a novel by Yoshiki Tanaka based on Sui Dynasty's expedition to Korea. The translator choose to using Chinese & Korean pronouncation of all the names than Japanese pronouncation.
