I notice a few novice translation errors in this, but it's not too important since the official English volume comes out next month. What's with the translation of that last line, 厄災の音 though? First trumpet?
Also in the first panel, the student on the left is the one who made the artwork...
In my translation, they have romantic feelings for each other. In my headcanon Takoha is also gay and initially crushed on Deido in their first meeting. Deido/Zanka backstory can also be read as queer.
In manga, when male characters show little sexual or romantic interest in female characters...
Deido's first dialogue in the story is a bizarre comparison of art to a "medical examination", and he ends the final conflict by defining the main character himself as art. I am truly amazed by how consistent Deido's words and behavior have been to his established character for the entire...
You can see quite a lot of his work in higher quality on his (no longer active) deviantart account! https://www.deviantart.com/hakota
Fun fact, even those "Son of Takoha" characters that Yokiyo (or whichever) brought to life? Those were from a painting from years earlier that Hakota had done...
@DrMuhammad
They can teleport through space by laying flat on a surface.... I think just about anything can be handwaved when it comes to the invaders' physical properties* lmao
*or things Deido can do by controlling them
@Nanoboss
Yeah, there are tons of raws (up to 223 I believe). I have just been slacking on my translations lately, hence my altered credits page on the recent releases. I'm endeavoring to kick into gear shortly. The team barely needs any time between my script and release so it's basically up...
@Catpyre
Yes, hiatus is over. We'll catch back up as soon as we can.
Expect a new chapter every day or two (depending on difficulty of redraws).
edit: I've been informed that redraws are a non-issue. The only factor is speed of translation. (which means definitely once per day, maybe 2 days)
I'm still wondering about those "tunnels of time" connecting between Souboutei and 1930-something, which I'm fairly sure someone explicitly said the invaders mustn't know about... So how and why did Deido(?) make them?
@Cerisine
I was thinking the same thing when it happened last chapter lol. My guess is that being "materialized" makes him more powerful but also loses his ghosty abilities like flying and phasing through stuff. It's kinda silly right now though without seeing the extent of his power (besides...
@pdonk
Earlier than chapter 12...?
> Just a little acknowledgement like "Deido isn't the only monster that lurks within these walls...!" ahead of time would've made it all sit better.
I mean... we've known that isn't the case for a loooong time. The invaders....?
I get that Oujin is way more...
