I somewhat agree. What Karl is trying is just a larger monarchy. Unification needs to happen mostly willingly, even if people are lead there and it shouldn't be through concentration of power into fewer hands.

Exactly my thoughts. The authors never seem to be able to create a proper plot thread. There is absolutely no reason, if it was that easy, why the villain lost. Even if he didn't study at first, if he kept challenging the MC then he would have eventually studied and mastered things.

The artists is doing a REALLY good job here. You can clearly see the fight and how it goes and even the emotions of the beast as it fights. Even showing how his magic switches between light and heavy by using a small image with a change in colour is really nice.
