I think the invisible element with the hover effect to make it respond when the mouse gets close is obstructing the click to retry button. My guess would be changing z-height of an invisible button for the retry so it's above the lightbar hover. I would attempt it myself, but I don't know how to...

Can confirm I have the same issue. It just affects me more as I use the history change to re-grab the forward and back buttons so I can implement my own navigation (using my mouse horizontal scroll buttons so I can't just use the built-in keybinds).
