Don't know about japan but it seems like women tend to get it easier when it comes to this, hell my country doesn't considered as rape and feminists within the courts tried to keep it that way.
I am pretty sure rape victims are seen as victims which is what mc is. In my experience it seems like most people usually punish the perpetrator but islamic areas tend to punish the victims to.
Another thing that does tick me off is when a series was having a proper translation then it becomes official and after sometime the official drops the series a d nobody touches it again
