So thats why updates stopped...

Pretty pathetic ngl. The whole series is about the brutality of survival in nature.

kinda freaky his own mother wants to get preggo by her son. Guess she just wants to save the species which I cant exactly fault her for wanting but she could also not be an evil cannibalistic asshole too
Isn't it similar to that scene with Satsuki and her mom in Kill la Kill? In the sense of being fucked up, I mean.

OH MY GAAAAWWWWWD I hate the miscommunication trope. All my homies hate the miscommunication trope. If the miscommunication trope has no haters, I am no longer alive. The miscommunication trope is my biggest opp.

i already doubted it, but i'm more and more skeptical she is supposed to be his actual mother based on a translation that was even done differently in the official version. calling a youngester a "child" doesn't necessarily mean Their child. well, it wouldn't shock me if she were, but it's still not seeming like it.

in any case, no matter which way it happens for some people rape is a very upsetting thing and i can't lie and say i wasn't disappointed that it was dropped because of it, but people keep insulting the scanlator's position who was doing free labor for you to read a story... asshole move to keep complaining about it under the guise of critiquing how someone feels about whatever story theme they don't like
I'd be more inclined to agree were it another type of story. Like if a romcom suddenly introduces an ntr subplot and the fmc gets raped and its used to spur the mc into action or whatever. Even a dumb action story where suddenly a character gets raped when to such heavy themes have been touched before

Anyways, point is, this entire manga from chapter 1 has been about the brutality and callousness of savage nature, and in nature rape happens rather regularly. So many other topics have been touched but treating rape as some sort of sacred cow topic that can never be shown or discussed ironically only harms rape victims in the end.
After all, I sincerely doubt rape is going to be shown in a positive light when the victim is a character we've gotten attached to and already has an obvious love interest.

You make a good point about the mother/not mother. The translations in english make it seem like they're related, specially with how the MC reacted to learning about her. Maybe its just how it sounds in english and its hard to localize without butchering her character

Jesus christ, some of you guys are so disrespectful of other people's boundaries. You might be okay with the level of SA about to be shown in this manga, but some others won't be. It's also disgusting that you feel entitled to someone's free labor.

The prior translator dropped the series. Get over it and yourselves. It's back now with someone else translating. That's it.

I came here to muse of the design choice of making the female dragon also look quite young in her human form. If males are meant to be the ones others coddle, why too do the female dragons look so young and helpless as well? Why aren't they more similar to the tigress? I wonder how much of what she's saying is a lie.

Looking at their dragon forms, I think what she says seems to be the truth. Hekido is much less imposing and softer looking while she has a very aggessive design. I think their human forms are this way just to keep coherence for the species. Bottom line is that these themes suit very much this manga because this is OneeShota with a predator-prey premise turned into a bond that blurs the lines between familial (mother/child) and mates, which is exactly in the realm of OneeShota and adds another in-universe instinctual explanation as to why they were so drawn to each other in the first place considering this is a manga about animals.
