I'm kind of interested to see where this goes but I also feel it's "copying" that other manga. Not directly but I find it ironic that in that other one they went to an island for the training shit or whatever and it was into "the lions den" - and this one they're going to an island for a school...

That’s what I’m thinking. It wasn’t the best manga but I appreciate the mangaka not intentionally dragging it out longer than needed and I also liked that they made an effort to fully tie any lose ends. The first thing I thought was “but what about the police investigating the two murderers”...

Either way, if the next chapter is the last that’s a good thing rather than having this dragged out longer than it needs.

This is answered in the chapter. As soon as the "prices" have been stated he has a look of shock and mentions that the "price" has never been that bad before. Later he says "I have never had such a heavy price to pay before" so either he has played this game before or it's a typo/translation...

I'm actually kinda confused... So the dude was possessed by his wife and that made him a mass murderer to the point he was killing people for no reason. He then "became a crow" and he also possesses people to try and stop his wife. Meanwhile, his wife is possessing people because....? Like...
