It's been a bit of a running theme so far that people who commit crimes are not evil by necessity, often far from it. We only have one or two references for what evil is at this point, but I'm interested to see what this manga will make of this "absolute evil" fella.

On another note though, this constant "this event will later be known as" and "thats a story for another time" thing needs to go. It really serves no relevance to the plot or worldbuilding to briefly bring up something only to discard it 2 sentences later. It's not...
So did ancient japan actually use crop rotation of any sort for their crop types? I mean obviously not the oft-bragged 4 crop rotation, which was a 16th - 18th century, revolution-hearalding innovation designed specifically for British crops. But perhaps even just something like 2 field rotation...
