What does everyone think of the anime version so far?

For those who have seen the anime so far, what are your opinions? Do the 80s-90s fantasy OVA look and competent directing help elevate the source, or do you think this is just putting lipstick on a pig? WN and LN are still ongoing, the author was taking a long time (3+ years!) to finish story...

For an extended version, you'll have to read the novels. Read it from Vol 3 onwards.

Checked up the WN for this. It only says that Braulio was arrested and imprisoned by the kingdom, but escaped some years after. His corpse was later found in Amalia's country, covered in giant claw marks.

Looked at the LN Vol 5 spoiler. The manga really is skipping all the adventure stuff...

The manga is skipping most of the LN content after Vol 2. You can read some highlights of the further adventures of Agnes and Nazel in the later books here...

I think the novels run for even longer once Robin and the corrupt royals are dealt with; I looked up some of the manga raws and they really skipped over much of the later books content.

Each manga chapter is very short, only 4 pages long. However, there are a lot of chapters. Mangaka released Chp 136-137 on Pixiv after a 9 month hiatus.

The author's the same one who wrote Though I Am An Inept Villainess, about the 2 body switching noblewomen who go on adventures in ancient not-China, which has been quite successful. So for them to produce this story, they must have been really writing in the fly.
