I suspect that the "part 1" thing is just leaving it open for the possibility of a sequel, if the text at the end was translated right it sounds like the mangaka will be working on something else after this? I kinda' hope it ends here, it's a satisfying end and I'd rather it finish on a bittersweet note rather than rehashing more pain and suffering.
