Short of a meteor falling and wiping out the whole country, it would be hard to reset everything Shizuko has introduced, technology at least. Holding out hope for a second act where she explores the future she created.

Didn't he suppress quite a lot of his political opponents? I think that counts as corruption.

I miss the early chapters where things that get invented was to overcome huge challenges. I get that she's getting embedded into sengoku politics but I am not happy with the "btw we have this that solved those" approach. I feel like I should be wary that the story would commit an asspull with it.

Vietnam, China, USSR, DPRK, Laos, Cuba. Literally any socialist state in history fits your bill. And their leaders never even had/have "absolute power". And unlike Singapore, the global hegemon fights them every step of the way.
