I have to wonder if the principal will change his stance if he realizes Santa is a shape-shifting child. Will that change his stance entirely? Will that make him a surprise ally? Or at least delay the "kill Santa" goal until Sanda is a proper adult?

Because he's not the ONLY one who wants to kill Santa, there's a whole organization dedicated to it. So having him change sides wouldn't remove the main antagonist, but create an opening to change focus.

I wonder where the principle will land on this discovery.

Is sanda "actually santa" and thus needs to be destroyed?

Or is Santa "Actually Sanda", and thus one of his charges, who needs to be protected?

I do enjoy the theme of age here especially. Where santa's natural white hair (a sign of the elderly) is beautiful and strong, as he represents a natural progression into adulthood. The principal's hair is thing, weak, but black. Young, yet strained. He has not accepted the fact he will grow older, and is weaker for it.
