Given how closed-off they are, it really is fascinating to see how Japanese people perceive other cultures.

It's somewhat paternalistic but I can't help but feel like I'm watching an abused puppy find a loving new home when I see them realize you don't have to work your life away for nothing...

They honestly manage to capture much of how the Swedish mindset is and it is quite interesting to see from a Japanese point of view.
It isn't really never too late to go back to school here in Sweden
True that. When I went to university a person in my class was 60, and several others were 30-40 ish.

I never though about how the house tour might be pretty unusual for non-swedes. It's fun to see how people from other countries perceive our culture and traditions :)

I find it rare that ID/passport issuing takes longer than they say. Might be harder for immigrants, though.

The most popular language on Duolingo in Sweden used to be Swedish (now it's Spanish, with Swedish being second). And as Japanese, she'll have it a lot easier with pronunciation than most. The languages are surprisingly close in that regard. She also has the benefit of not being great at English. That will otherwise prompt a lot of Swedes to switch to English instead of Swedish, which makes it harder to learn.

That's a pretty nice house. I can tell from the shade of grey that it's red.

People living in areas where it snows or rain a lot usually take their shoes off.

House tours aren't universal. They happen, but in my experience not often. Unless you're staying the night.

Cooking together makes it so much better, especially if you don't like cooking.

Those potatoes look like early potatoes. Smaller, sweeter, and a thinner peel.

Using "jättegott" about food is the exact opposite of the typical manga foodie flowery language. Simple, and in a form children often use.

"Going straight to college after high school is quite rare."
Not really. Though getting extra or alternative education later on is somewhat common. A co-oworker I had a few years ago studied astronomy, and she wasn't more than a decade away from pension.

I miss this series. Circle appears to be still active, so I guess they just dropped this?
