Given how closed-off they are, it really is fascinating to see how Japanese people perceive other cultures.

It's somewhat paternalistic but I can't help but feel like I'm watching an abused puppy find a loving new home when I see them realize you don't have to work your life away for nothing...

True that. When I went to university a person in my class was 60, and several others were 30-40 ish.

Nah, just ordinary bureucratic slowness. My guess is a combination of Skatteverket (the Tax Office) being backed up with requests and/or PostNord (the poastal service) taking forever like usual.

Going to komvux (high school classes for adults for the foreigners in the comment section) atm to change careers and there's a decent amount of people in that age range too. Foreign friends are shocked when they hear about it lol.
