Which is why fighting a supposed deity without everything maxed out pre-fight and allowing the weaker person to aggro him are brainless moves, especially for STEM people...Well, that was quick. But tbh, both of them are STEM people, they have no actual combat skill. The only way to win here is to overwhelm opponent with raw stats.
He could literally have just put all his points down before the fight instead of hoarding them for no reason and beat the boss in 1 shot. Is there any reason why he risked death here?
He tried rising the stats once, but it became clear that he couldn't control that power. Every movement risked breaking stuffs or injuring other people around him, so he settled with some moderately high but still manageable numbers.Which is why fighting a supposed deity without everything maxed out pre-fight and allowing the weaker person to aggro him are brainless moves, especially for STEM people...
Yeah, I didn't understand Miyoshi's sudden attack either, expected them to at least try to converse with it first. And it's indeed brain dead to head to a boss fight without the priming drop counter.Which is why fighting a supposed deity without everything maxed out pre-fight and allowing the weaker person to aggro him are brainless moves, especially for STEM people...
Pretty much. Miyoshi decided to pull aggro from a God, despite having the combat abliity of a goblin. Luckily Arthurs #1 and #2 were ablative armour (lucky for her I mean, not so much for the Arthurs. At least Miyoshi has plenty of rank one healing potions to apply)Didnt even try to talk to the guy, just straight up murder-hobo'ed him
not even close. He spent 200 points in this fight, and still has more than 500 left.Bro finally used all his skill points
Kei thought the same - so was gratified when he found out he wouldn't have to kill 100 monsters of the same type. He put that into practice with the 5th floor mini-boss "hound of hecate" he got the language comprehension orb from in Ch.24 - he killed hellhounds until he had 99 kills, then took out the boss.I'm confused, I thought it had to be the 100th kill of the same creature (so he would need to kill god 99 more times)... maybe I'll go re-read.
For an 18th floor boss, Enkai is just stupidly OP (although given we have an even more stupidly OP MC, I doubt he is in a position to complain)He tried rising the stats once, but it became clear that he couldn't control that power. Every movement risked breaking stuffs or injuring other people around him, so he settled with some moderately high but still manageable numbers.
Also, both of them entered this area thinking it was just another fun trip. Miyoshi's iron ball launcher and the hellhounds are pretty much cheat power, while Yoshimura's all 100s in stats make him towering above the entire human race (even top explorers haven't reached three digit yet). They simply didn't expect the boss to be that bad.
Reminder the artist of this work makes almost nothing but BL.I suspect he is only a he because Miyoshi has a thing about BL stories though....

There's an actual formula for dropsHis Skill Orb skill activates on the 100th Kill, but he has 100 Luck. So he gets crazy item drops no matter what (with the chance for a skill orb drop). And if they're right and this boss just respawns, they can just kill dwarves until they get to 99.
I feel sad for Kei's chances with his harem, then...Reminder the artist of this work makes almost nothing but BL.
Dude, they were just standing before the opponent until the girl attacked (rather than allow the MC to engage) for some incomprehensible reason. He could have done it then or while approaching, since he wasn't planning on doing anything but combat next. It couldn't be more risky than doing it WHILE fighting for his life, right? He tried rising the stats once, but it became clear that he couldn't control that power. Even if they didn't plan to talk, he is supposed to be the physical powerhouse among them, so allowing him to tie up the opponent while providing support from a distance are basic tactics, especially if you don't know what exactly you're up against. I know it sounds gamey, but under these circumstances, it's the safest option.Yeah, I didn't understand Miyoshi's sudden attack either, expected them to at least try to converse with it first. Yes, it was their negligence that resulted in this situation. But how would you expect them to be combat ready when they had never encountered any serious danger until now? This isn't shounen battle manga, "fighting for life" just isn't registered in their head.Dude, they were just standing before the opponent until the girl attacked (rather than allow the MC to engage) for some incomprehensible reason. No they didn't. They discussed it while on route at length and were wary since they knew it was supposed to be a god that had slaughtered veteran combatants already. They even discussed his presumed weaknesses. And for what? To go in half-cocked and almost get themselves killed. It's nonsense.

Abandoning her playful air, Miyoshi began speaking with a serious expression. “The SDF soldiers who lost their lives here were killed as soon as they reached the mountaintop. According to the ones who survived, they couldn’t even comprehend what had taken place, despite it happening right in front of them.
Would argue that Miyoshi didn't think he would be a close-range fighter; the Arthurs can block a snipe, but possibly not a fist?Miyoshi is indeed weak AF by the value of her stats, especially next to Yoshimura. Her summon is another story altogether: could the veteran combatants you made a big deal of block sniper shot? As long as the opponent wasn't able get pass the Arthurs, she could comfortably launch iron balls from safe distance until everything is dead. It didn't occur to them that something on level 18 (regarded as mid-range in term of difficulty) would steamroll the dogs like that.
Enkai is stupidly OP even by that standard; as far as I can tell, "the phantom" wasn't bothered by the floor boss, despite its set of four, infinitely-replicating minions being the same monster that was the Final Dungeon Boss of Evans Dungeon - and that all of Team Simon struggled to take down ONE of.Enkai's ridiculous strength was another factor that threw them off their game. Even until level 3x no enemy remotely came close to him except another special boss (who was also much stronger than the level they stayed in)
But they have, during the auction deadline incident, where both were pretty much shell-shocked by the sniper shot and in the dungeon, while in the mansion. In any case, being combat ready only requires that you do whatever comes to mind in order to improve your chances - if it came to him to raise the stats while fighting, it would have been the same if he even bothered to stop and consider preparing before it.Yes, it was their negligence that resulted in this situation. You talk as if they expected to easily get through whatever awaited them, but go back to the chapter in which Miyoshi explained the whole mountain incident (46) and you'll see this was not the case. They were wary enough that they didn't even plan to confront whatever was supposed to be on top of the mountain, they were forced to by being cornered into the structure that ended with the elevator. Up until this fight, they seemed reasonable, but the moment they arrived it's like both their brains turned off...Miyoshi is indeed weak AF by the value of her stats, especially next to Yoshimura. That's not the conversation I refered to. In chap. 46 they discussed the mountain boss and came to the conclusion, that it's too scary to even attempt. They ended up being herded to him, but it's clear they expected major trouble, which is why it's incomprehensible that this is how it went in the end.Sort of?
Miyoshi's only interest in the conversation was to let Kei know the details of a BL story in the oral history; it's not even certain it IS a BL story, given the EN- prefix is feminine.
The problem is that this was not a decision made under the pressure of combat. It would be far more understandable if that was the case. No plan was really executed, even though they had the chance. The MC stood there idly (and it's not like he was surprised to see the enemy), while the girl went Leeroy Jenkins. Her battle plan was for Kei to "make the first move" - then - on arrival, instantly started throwing iron balls at Enkai. I know no plan survives encounter with the enemy, but even so... yeah, it was a boneheaded move.
Yes, but that's the conversation they had when they knew they WOULD be fighting enkai - and Miyoshi not only prioritized her BL fetish, but suggested Kei take the lead - then ignored that and instantly attacked. That's not the conversation I refered to. There wasn't an interval there. To quote the LN (again):The problem is that this was not a decision made under the pressure of combat. It would be far more understandable if that was the case. As soon as we arrived, Miyoshi launched an iron ball at the sun god
Wait, my argument was against the claim that they saw this as another "fun trip" (to quote the person saying it) and were therefore not even seeing their opponent as a real threat. Are you using this BL tangent as a counter to that? I see this as her attempt to "lighten the mood", probably more for her own sake. As for the rest, yeah as I've mentioned before, it's like their brains took a vacation upon arrival.Yes, but that's the conversation they had when they knew they WOULD be fighting enkai - and Miyoshi not only prioritized her BL fetish, but suggested Kei take the lead - then ignored that and instantly attacked.
The prior conversation was basically "yeah, lets not go anywhere near him" which isn't a battle plan, albeit it IS a valid strategy.
That does not change what I said. They weren't yet in combat to have the excuse of "decision under pressure" and the elevator ride did afford some time to prepare. There wasn't an interval there. To quote the LN (again):
That is unrelated to this story, this mangaka is just drawing it, and sure, it have many nice womens but MC is a normal japanese man in a modern Earth with dungeons, he will go with one, that will likely be the business partner or the association girl, the indian heir is beautiful too, but is very unlikely this story will develop in a true harem for me.There's an actual formula for drops
There is a basic drop rate for common drops - its about one in four (0.25)
There is then a separate drop rate for crystal drops - which is the BDR above, times (LUC/100)
Finally there is a rare item drop rate, which is much smaller - one in fifty (0.02) times (LUC/100)
And I shudder to think how many things Miyoshi killed working that out
I feel sad for Kei's chances with his harem, then...
