Tbf there aren't many delicate looking noble girls with seemingly no signs of training or battle preparedness, who just jump and punch a Wyvern to death, I'd assume that kinda method was signature to him in his past life.

Maybe they won against that demon lord, but the demon lord put a curse on them. That'd explain away the seemingly peaceful era, the current humans still knowing about them, and both of them not remembering anything during and after the battle. The demon lord doesn't necessarily have to die either, could just be heavily wounded or exhausted and forced into becoming dormant.
But maybe the demon lord is still around and "won" that battle, but is not really the "destroy everything" type evil but more the "behind the scenes puppet master" type evil, so just prefers to manipulate things in their favour covertly, giving the humans a false sense of security. Alternatively the demon lord is not necessarily evil, defeated them easily and took pity on their circumstances, giving them a new life with more "freedom".

There is also the memory wiping probability, but since they cannot remember anything about the Demon Lord battle, this assumption won't come to them as naturally. And, if they got memory wiped, chance their mind was also messed with to make them not think too much about this.

Clarke's third law dictated that "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic", so there's that. But I did agree that it wasn't very creative, but "shit" would be way too harsh, I just explained why did the author do that, not saying that their writing is "good". The shit writing would be the battle magic system and the battle itself, like the crap implementation of body strengthening spell, and the battle with that wyvern.

The use of magic here is: Hot water summoned from the celling like rain, with on-off turning, temperature and pressure controlled by will. It is more like a sci-fi shower than our current hotel one lmao.
