gentle reminder that Yom is not the one at faultYom redemption arc![]()
He got a face during the confession arc. I can't remember what chapter that was.I haven't read this manga in a while and might have forgotten something, but...this dude isn't such a literal self-insert anymore and has an "official" appearance?

Looks like they're talking about this, where Yom is the artist for another author's manga, which is based on that author's novel. There's as many 10 stars as there are 1 stars, and a chapter in the middle that jumped up 9x in number of comments in the forums, so looks like there was a plot twist that a lot of people didn't likeWhat happened? These have been around for a hot minute, but never got tl'd.
Also, Yom is just doing the art for That Series, so you can't get his ass for the writing.
Whether or not he's doing the illustrations for a fat paycheck or he read the novel and thought 'peak, lemme in' is what's in question imo

Aka Akasaka was not involved in any way, so I'm already willing to forgive them for that.I haven't read this back in a while but I'm pretty sure that when douki-chan finally confessed the male lead stopped being a blank slate and literally started having a face so that he could react and be a character in his own relationship starting up.
I don't really blame Yom for the other story because I know they (he?) is just listed as the artist, but given the rather visceral reaction a lot of people had to it I can almost feel that Yom would've come back to this light, fluffy, silly series as a palette cleanser for everything the other series would've made them party to.
It's the manga that @TooOldForThis linked to. Yom is the illustrator (but not the writer) on it. It starts out like a pretty standard "childhood friends but she's secretly in love with him" story then takes a hard turn into the dramatic in the middle with a kind of scummy twist that makes multiple characters out to be pretty awful purely for "the drama".
It's got a 6 average score, which by the standards of Mangadex and peoples' general inability to effectively use all the space on a 10-point scale almost always translates out to "the only redeeming quality is that it's not on the level of the absolute worst garbage we've ever seen". That says something.
