Girl, no one’s making you be mean to your former friends. If you’re so wistful about those days, then quit being such a dick and talk to Ayumi.
Isnt it really not her fault? Becoming a butterfly twisted her in some weird way and caused her to act like this. I remember her telling Ayumi of being scared of changing if she became a butterfly or something. or am i mistaken?

That’s what we were told and shown initially, but this extra seems to indicate that some amount of her original feelings are still there. You’re certainly right though that her personality has been warped more so than her not feeling any affection anymore.

Wasn't Reika malding over Ayumi back in chapter 7? Saying that she wouldn't forgive ayumi and all that? So, her reminiscing their old friendship now is kinda absurd. No way she's pushing the blame to Ayumi for ruining their friendship, right? lol

Also, why did she choose Iyu's hairstyle when she wanted to be like Ayumi? This girl...

Clearly the implication is that this whole butterfly thing massively fucks with peoples personalities to the point that theyre all slowly turning into psychos with brief flashes of their true self, but thats just too depressing for me so i hope that its just that the culture that the butterflies have established is the fault and reika just became a massive asshole because she got power(this way it would still be reversible).
From what weve learned in chapter 7 the society up top is luxury and excess while the ones on the bottom suffer and the top looks down on the bottom for not turning into butterflies, something thats seemingly not even achievable through effort alone. Hope our mc, who still seems to have maintained some of her morals atleast, changes this society and more importantly reika for the better.
Thanks for the chapter

I hope the opposite. I want our MC to leave and venture out into the desolate wasteland to find/create something better

Hm, how very interesting.
There seems to be way more Reika left inside of her than she is letting on - so the immediate next question is why she'd be pushing away Ayumi as much as she does regardless.
Wonder if she is afraid of this new her that she became, and which she likely doesn't understand yet, harming the ones she cares about. Or if this was just a particularly lucid moment.

I do also wonder how much of this revolves around the queens. Like if the butterflies instill loyalty to the queens does it get stronger if you're near your queen? or is it like several of you are already moments of lucidity and moments of pure butterfly instinct.

No one made you choose to be a bitch to your friends you know...

I know transforming changes them and all, but she seems to be aware of herself, so there's not much of an excuse. Unless the butterfly influence borders on mind control

This chapter is fine on its own.
But it sure brings a lot of feeling of inconsistency if we remember Reika’s attitude so far.
Wonder how the author want to try reconcile both sides of the story.

iinm, the white is supposedly the most discriminative, and they’re the majority.
The other factions might have small feuds, but in most case they’re chill and just doing their own business.
