So, her remorse was just performative last chapter? Don't have a clue on what the theology of this world is, but this page just shows her banishment for those years was not unwarranted.

She wouldn't have committed that "sin" in the first place if she was the type to feel remorseful about it. In the end, she's a demon, and she wanted to feel better about herself.

To me there is such a thing as feeling sorry that you don't feel sorry. She even says as much in stating, "I must not forgive myself until this heart changes". However, the righteous indignity of unjust censure make it impossible for her to not only forgive herself, but the heavens she served.

OTOH while true she recieved punishment for what the heavens perceived as a crime. If she would have followed her orders, she would not just be murdering innocent bystanders and the bad actors that called for such mass destruction, but also devout followers that worship the same pantheon as she does.

Just like we condem our leaders and military officials when their willful negligence endangers non-combatants and civilians, so too was she morally correct in stopping such wonton destruction and loss of innocent life. There is something to be said for killing a few to save the multitudes, but to me that just sounds like a lazy solution because a more surgical remedy would take more effort

I never said it was evil for her to do. But she had disobeyed the gods, murdered the water goddess, and also took a demon summoner for her new God.

Everything she said last chapter is pure bullshit as repentance, and was properly banished.

We don't even know what they are being punished for and only see the angel's perspective and her interactions with the boy. Someone or multiple people could have been doing whatever the fuck. Viewers will think it's unfair because we lack enough evidence to think otherwise. Feels too one-sided to think that the gods are purely pricks. The series does contradict itself a lot like the spirits hating the mc because he was pure.

But what if God are actually saving the villagers? Like all of their souls would be going to heaven. It's the angels fault for failing the test, she is too attached to material world when the spiritual world is better.

We know they're not bieng punished at all. The angel asked why she should flood the village and the response was basically "just cuz". She literally went down to observe them closesly and saw they were all dutiful and honest people and yet she was supposed to massacre for literally no reason except that her God said so.

Then why would the god not communicate as such to the angels that they were saving the villagers. The angel LITERALLY asks her superiors why she needs to massacre an innocent village and is given no reason besides "cuz that's how it is". For any reasonable person angel or not that shouldn't be enough.

She disobeyed a god that wanted her to massacre an innocent village for no reason, killed the water goddess who was already in the process of massacring said village, and then decided to follow a demon summoner who showed much more kindness, empathy, and value for human life than her God did. I honestly don't understand how anyone with morals could disagree with her choice.

That's the test, it's a test of faith for God. Just like Ibrahim who sacrificed his son because God wills it, and in return got rewarded for his faith. God swapped his son with lamb, you can't presume or question God's faith other than it's best for you

Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth. Do you realize the number of autrocities commited in real life under blind faith?
