MC made the worst mistake. He could have pretended to be married to Cecilly.

Nobils can get away with most things but Courting or taking a married person is the most shameful thing because marriage is supposed to be respected by everyone.

Even trash nobles need to respect this or risk a scandal.

shittier how? rip off the bandaid please

Real shitty depending on how close it sticks to the web novel that was since deleted by the author. The noble tries to spike his drink and rape him but he avoids it with his skills and making her drink it instead so she passes out thinking they did the deed. At the time, he steals that fancy ass staff as payback.

She leaves next day without checking that the staff is gone so Shiro eventually plans to return it to the capital because he's a gigantic idiot. The real problem happens when that serial killer who ran into the dungeon ends up being revealed to be living in the dungeon killing adventurers and eating monsters to stay alive. Eventually she gets to the boss room and the boss is literally impossible to beat solo, because if it was some type of paired monster that if only one dies they multiply.

This leads to an eventual dungeon overflow where Cecily tries to be a hero and help, getting trapped inside and almost dying. Shiro goes balls out with every golem, magical item, and the god staff at his disposal and reveals his powers to everyone to save her. This causes him, Cecily, and the other two girls in her party to flee the island. They go to the secondary island for a while and then, for god knows what stupid reason, he ends up leaving Cecily and the other two behind as well going on a crossdressing streak alone through the countryside disguising himself as a female alchemist with his main goal being to return the godly staff that he stole from the rapey noble.

I kinda stopped giving a shit at that point but last I saw before it was left on hiatus for years before being deleted, some other younger noble was interested in him (disguised as a girl mind you) and wanted to keep him. I could be wrong here and there, but boy it's stupid and completely losees the aspect of the series. Which sucks, because the premise was really good beforer they started complicating it too much by putting the adventurers guild and more there.

The sexual violence tag looms menacingly.

Honestly it makes sense if you ever want to see the other girls again, he would have to leave the island to do that, and he would need a way to get involved albeit reluctantly with the war going on in the continent, hence the staff. As I remember, he doesn’t leave Cecily, she goes back to the war front and obviously doesn’t want to take Shiro.

These are just my memories of the WN, but I found it mostly consistent enough to justify MC whoring on the mainland, and it is mostly fun, except for the “Doctor” arc, that went truly off the rails.

Not gonna lie, when you posted this my first thought was "Wait, did my brain gloss over some egregiously bad typesetting or something?"

Thanks for posting this. Man, it sounds like a classic case of the writer either running out of ideas, or got bored with the series, which is a damn shame, cause it’s really good.

Guess we’ll see how it unfolds. It’ll be a lot of work for the mandala to recruit the story compared to just graphically telling it as it’s written, so I don’t think they’ll go that route.

If he didn't have his teleport ring and a handful of really nice, really strong women who are perfectly willing to cut a bitch on his behalf, I'd be worried.

every chapter this island just gets worse and worse, hopefully he moves soon though it's just gonna be to a shittier island.
According to the web novel, he will be moving soon, I would say 4-5 chapters to go, although I hear some people don't like this bit because it feels kinda rushed, I sure hope it gets ironed out in the manga

Like I've said before, I feel like this development is aiming for a very specific endgame, and so long as it actually delivers on the payoff it seems to be promising, I'm willing to forgive a lot regarding how it gets there. The WN got halted and cut before it could get to any kind of payoff at all, so I just hope that doesn't happen again with this version.

It feels like a lot of readers see this series as basically just smut (for example, see how mad people get about the lack of nipples whenever that comes up) and just wanted Shirou to accrue an ever-expanding harem with no drama (or at least, only sexy drama), but I appreciate that the author is trying to tell a more involved story with higher stakes and clear beginning, middle and endgame arcs, and I'm interested in seeing how it all wraps up, assuming the author is allowed/able to get that far.
