Love me a Great Elf that isn't actually stupid, Older beings should EASILY be able to tell who's lying or trying to change the subject as a distraction, glad that Sera is really smart too along with being strong too
I mean a Great Elf that's actual experienced the world, if someone just stays in the forest their whole lives and never contacts the outside world, the only knowledge they'll have is of the forest.

Not really, Unless they live in self isolation then yea but most elves live with other elves, I HIGHLY DOUBT they'd never experience someone lying to them, If lets say a elf lived in a forest for 500 years with like 100 other elves it would be wild if none of them ever lied to said person ever in 500 years, hence imo I think long lived creatures should know who is lying to them and who isn't

Okay, let's assume that an elven civilization develops isolated in the inaccessible heart of a forest. Furthermore, all elves in this civilization are long-lived (up to 1000 years or more), such that your average elf is 500 years old. According to your logic, your average elf can suss out who's lying because of their experience. So far so good.

Now, let's assume that this elven civilization develops in complete isolation, with no contact to the outside world. Furthermore, let's assume the following:
  • Adult elves can easily suss out liars
  • Being in an isolated civilzation, there's a huge pressure to conform and "not rock the boat"

Now, here's what I think would happen:
  1. Younger elves would lie, but would easily be sussed out by their elders.
  2. Younger elves would soon learn that lying is not effective.
  3. Lying would be seen as a sign of immaturity, as only younger elves would even think of lying.
  4. Conformity leads to lying being a taboo, or at least a faux pas among adults.
  5. Adult elves staying in this isolated civilization would only have experience of children and immature people lying to them, and thus aren't exposed to more subtle ways of lying.

Going back to the main topic: whether or not Sera is an exception to great elves, I think it's her being exposed to a lot more variety of people that gives her better interpersonal skills (being able to suss out lies, smoothing things over) than had she not been an adventurer and stayed in one place.

The artist really copied and pasted at least two drawn characters and used them in three and at least two panels... And just zoom in and zoom out... Like... this is already bare minimum...

You alluded to it, so I think it was in your mind. But you didn't actually type it out and I think it deserves being said:
Being an insular isolated civilization with the traits you mentioned, with a very slow replenishment of new bodies, I also think that they like you said will be very much avoiding to "rock the boat" and otherwise seek conflicts between people. So even when people lie to them, I suspect they will be reluctant to push very hard, and likely often even pretend they did not notice. So they might appear naive as a result, but they actually knew all along and simply have been conditioned to not care about being lied to.

Or alternatively, unlike your theory, their upbringing stamps out the tendency to lie really early on because lies would be what truly creates conflicts (leading to the "fae unable to lie" idea), so they are actually naive and utterly unable to notice any lies.
Or they could literally actually be magically unable to lie, like all stories say.

My favorite kind of elves though, are the jp ones with ears standing right outwards, that wiggle up and down when emotional. So any lying elves would quickly be found out on behalf of the specific type of wiggle their ears perform. Much like they know when they feel other intense emotions.
Because everyone like puppies with wagging tails.

Surely rushing this dungeon won't end badly. surely.

I am speculating that the stones being light colored means that another Tidal Bore or just a bunch of mobs could spawn behind them while they're exploring or something?

You really hit what's on the back of my mind while I was making that reply with that. One other thought came with it, however: "Am I just describing the people of rural Japan?" and I just noped out of that line of thought. There's already quite an amount of unfortunate implications in some of the elven stereotypes I just... Nope!! 😅

I don't think there's anything wrong with this art, the elf looks good, the akuma looking girl looks hot, the only complaint I had was some of the fucking monsters like the 3D dragon and the 3D goblins or w.e they just look weird lol
