eh most of that can be remedied by walking around with one of his guard dogs, 99% of the city is terrified of them and will mostly leave him alone, the caveat being that he's never alone, but it's better having one person on his neck than 10+

Not always available and due to his luck shenanigans(trials) not always (mentally) reliable. He misunderstood by Everyone and instead of avoiding thy just make things worse instead.

My memory is a bit fuzzy on this…I think I remember the money they spent doesn’t become an issue. And the mask part also is settled.

I think it was the two sisters extorting the money from that one team that came in earlier and took quite a bit from them. And the mask still ends up in his hands anyway.

He's only actually this way because they refused to let him leave or notice his own feelings of inferiority. They raised him on a pedestal he didn't want to stand on. Sure, he could 'man up' and speak up, but they could also actually pay attention to them. But this is fictional and neither of their actions actually have meaningful consequences. This is part of the comedy, if you truly can't stand that, don't force yourself to read. Because you'll end up taking it too seriously and villainizing a character whose flaws are meant to be funny.
