How can you forget the pirate queen bitch Mary? Yeah, I'm surprised Hiro didn't sic Mimi's grandmother on her tail, she's just the sort of rogue operator perfect for the job of taking her down without legal justification.
That would have been great. The author probably held back to have someone harass Hiro with better success, though I doubt that would even happen now considering how broken Krishna is in recent chapters

I didn't realize how big the mothership is at first glance, then I saw the tiny human figures around it.
For further reference, don't forget it has two cargo bays, each can fit a small ship like the Krishna

I feel it's drawn smaller than it supposed to be. It technically has way more cargo bays if you're counting the 2 dry docks as cargo bays. If I remember correctly there should be enough room on that mothership to

  • dry docks to hold up to 2 small-medium ships with full repair/maintenance facility. It was noted that those 2 dock had their own entrance/exit so they don't need to queue to launch or land.
  • Living area with enough space to hold about a couple dozen people in a luxury liner style, private quarters, high-end mess hall/lounge, and recreational facilities such as a shooting range, full gym, combat practice room.
  • Full top of the line med bay with a small science/research facility,
  • several cargo bays segment out to 1) hold enough of munitions supply a small fleet, 2) room to hold all the scrap and ship parts from a couple dozen ships from the pirate hunting, 3) space for several hundreds of tons of cargo for trading, and 4) I believe there is still 1-2 cargo bays that doesn't have a dedicate purpose, but later on gets access to buy a bunch of military combat bots and uses one of them to hold their support and maintenance equipment.

Also where are the gun? I remember that ship is supposed to have a few hard points and a big forward facing spinal mount railgun.

The weapons are concealable so it can pose as a civilian vessel to bait pirates. I'm pretty sure the EML was mounted through the center or below. Extra note on the size, they explicitly stated it was 300m long in the LN. Also it can definitely only hold two small ships, that was part of why they decided on a medium ship for Elma, cause docking two small ships would mean no space left for salvage/loot.

I imagined the mothership less block-y, feels like 80s mecha in comparison to the Krishna.
The author said he wrote the story based on experiences in various games, including Elite Dangerous and Stellaris.
Most of the ship settings in this series are heavily influenced by Elite Dangerous, including the ship design and operation.

So in Elite Dangerous terms, the main character has a fully engineered Fer-de-Lance (which for some reason become small ship) in a universe filled with nothing but un-engineered haulers.

The "Space Dwergr" in this universe are kinda like equivalent of "Lakon Spaceways" in elite, which is a ship manufacture specializing in blocky, chonky but durable and utilitarian freighters and explorer. Even when they design combat ships, they still look like a cargo ship with extra guns.

Also since most of ship design in elite is from 80s game, your guess is not wrong tbh.

At last, after 13 million chapters, the mothership. Now watch, in typical manga/anime fashion, they will get a grandmothership and then a greatgrandmothership...it will never end!!
The next ship they get is a Medium Sized one, which Elma pilots (though around LN Vol.11-12 plot, while Manga is currently finishing LN Vol.5 plot).

Krishna is barely classified as Small Sized ship (40 to 50 meters in length), while the new one is classified as Large Sized since it's 400 to 500 meters long.

In this Series, a Spaceship classification is defined by its size, and these are the class of ships a common person could buy if they have money.
  • 20 to 50 meters long Ships are called Small Sized.
  • 60 to 300 meters long Ships are called Medium Sized.
  • 300 to 600 meters long Ships are called Large Sized, can also be classified as Motherships for this category of Ships.
Armies have their own standards of Ships,
  • Army Motherships can be as long as 2,500 meters.
  • Battleships are 1,500.
  • Cruisers are below 1,000.
  • Destroyers are as big as large ships.
  • Corvettes are about as big as medium ships.
Armies tend to not use any variation of Small Sized ships, because they don't work in small groups less than 5 people (Krishna being the most state-of-the-art Small Sized ship has a crew capacity of 5 people, meaning most typical Small Sized ships have even lower crew capacity).

The new ship can't fit a Medium sized ship inside (confirmed in Afterward of LN Vol.6).
It can only house 2 Small Sized ships.

The small Science/Research facility is added later around the plot of LN Vol. 12-13 (currently Manga is at LN Vol.5 plot) when the Researcher Woman from Volume 2 joins the crew.

The guns are hidden type, aka., inside enclosure which are closed away.
Basically the new Ship is also supposed to act as bait to hunt pirates.

Come to think of it, if those two are freaking out so much with just some pirates, wait until the Crystal Lifeform arc!
Though those two don't ride on Krishna after this point.
Mei & those two basically become the primary crew of the New Ship and stay only in it for majority of the plot.
Even during the next Arc, they stay on the new ship and see MC's shenanigans from afar.

Well Mary would probably have a much bigger plot later, considering she is also a reincarnator (like MC), who used to play Space Pirate games.

We get at least two (ish) views of it in the Volume 5, once from the cover, and the other from the color insert where we see the model in a small hologram floating mid-table. It is functionally identical to the design here.
oh you're right. Not a perfect view, but visible. Also dorf butt. :chad:

Most small ships also have interiors so bad its comparable to our sea fairing ships back in the age of sail, the krishna is a F22 with a built in pent house
