I'm curious as well- but needless to say she saw something that revealed his real personality before, that wasn't shared with the rest of the team. Now I have more questions: What did Blues know beforehand about the blonde bitch? Does Blues have dormant superpowers or something? Do OD "space powers" not work or are they unstable outside of Baju Street?
And last, what's the fuckign point of attacking another dimension other that to prove you are "evilier"??![]()
I disagree. It was laid out before that people from the Dark Side don't mess with the people from OD's group or antagonize the Street (OD's territory). It was also established early on that Cello was originally from the Dark Side but is inherently a good person, so while he can get brutal and ruthless, he does still care about the people- something the original never did, and that Blues revealed early on by saying that he always had been a piece of shit/had a piece of shit personality. His powers were also originally begun to be explored with the fight against Ethan/Delta, then further revealed with the fight against OD's enforcers, in both cases showing that he doesn't really have conscious control of it but rather an instinctive reaction at times, which this fight was building on. This wasn't a "end boss fight" but rather "first of several repeating fights against the main villain where he kicks your butt and you come back stronger after" setups. It doesn't feel like this arc was all that well thought out, a lot of things just sorta happened without lasting consequences or proper setup
I'm not gonna call every single development an asspull, but there was zero foreshadowing of either a character like Od with that level of power (who for some reason is restricted and can't actually save the day despite how strong he is), or that Golden Man would return but evil and with even more superpowers
The protagonist gaining some poorly defined berserk super power, and then getting stomped in the second fight right after is just... It feels bad. It's such a common trope, and it doesn't feel like a good execution of it
I dunno, I think it was hinted well enough that he was going to be like this. Even in the first chapter, we learn a lot about how the original Golden Man fights. He's silent, doesn't talk to or reason with villains, doesn't have a catchphrase or otherwise interact with his fans, doesn't care about collateral damage, and seemingly would have let Dr. Centipede fall to his death at the end of the fight. He was a hero because he fought villains, nothing more. The conspiracy theorist on TV who suggests Golden Man started the warehouse fire is presented as a J. Jonah Jameson type, but he might have been right all along.Ah, that's the other shoe. I'm sure they were still alive, I just didn't know how.
Honestly, this shadow world thing is pretty classic comic book, I dig it. The whole "I'm in the wrong one" is a cool thing, too.
The setup here is nifty, if fast and clumsy. I suppose it makes some sense since Cello is our protagonist and he didn't know the original Golden Man or... anything, but the first time we see the guy he does this shit when we'd heard he was the city's hero before. There's no hints, and the drastic shift in tone is shocking but I don't know if it's in a good way yet.
I think Cello has more than just Sugar and Cinnamon's abilities.maybe blues didnt get time stopped cause where she got hit? the other three got hit in chest, while she got headshot. though would think that would be even more a "kill shot"
since OG seemingly has oiran's ability, i hope shes still alive/okay. cello is the "perfect" version of sugar and cinnamon's abilities, and they arent dead so i got hope
Well, even if they died their death was gonna be kinda cheap because unlike Blues, they haven't been developed as characters so nobody would care

your nitpicking, we saw people with psychic abilities, people who can open cracks in space, cello "erasing" a chunk of his opponent, the fact that magic existed was established just fineIt doesn't feel like this arc was all that well thought out, a lot of things just sorta happened without lasting consequences or proper setup

Goldman's true nature was foreshadowed first when Blue thinked about their past relationsonship and even more when he returned unarmed and safeIt doesn't feel like this arc was all that well thought out, a lot of things just sorta happened without lasting consequences or proper setup
