One thing to note is that we are aware of the backlash on the paywall system, but that only applies to a small part of the titles we're working on. Roughly 80% of the cases, the mangas are totally free without advanced chapters on our site. This manga is included in the totally free category.

Would you elaborate more? Cuz some of the manga are in my reading list and 2 per month almost fit all the manga, but most of those are just time spent waiting from the raw or a bit of few chapter (1-3) behind the raw.
I just see no issue with them so far.

I just see no issue with them so far.

The latest chapters are behind a patreon paywall on their own web site. They upload chapters here when they're free on their own reader. A lot of people don't like this because paying for piracy is a scam.
Edit: Mind you that as long as they don't keep the chapters behind paywalls permanently, they're not breaking mangadex rules, especially 1.8. And apparently since Mangadex doesn't do anything about the groups, they don't break 1.5. So no use reporting them.

I've suggested to the mods to give groups like this a content warning similar to porn. You might want to lobby for that if you think it's a good idea.

After comparing this with the other group, while the quality of the images are higher, there are more inconsistencies in the words and grammar. It feels really stiff too with the weird wording. “Do you have a girlfriend? I don’t have any” instead of I don’t have one? Idk if it’s just me being picky but the grammar makes me prefer the other chapter from the previous group

They're a latin american/Spanish group and probably don't have a proofreader skilled in English would be my guess. Same for me, it's hard to make it sound fluent when English is your second language. I'm just not able to see the shortcomings on my own.

KDT isn't as bad as other groups that paywall. They at least continue to update on here with some lag. It's not like, say, Art Lapsa, who get to like 8-10 chapters, stop, and possibly even delete the chapters they've uploaded here while continuing to only upload on their own website.


I'm OK with groups that are like "we'll upload on Mangadex on a regular schedule, but you can read a little ahead if you want to pay for it."

Is it kinda sketchy? Yeah. But scanlation is sketchy to begin with. I don't like monetization for profit because it tends to attract unwanted extra attention from publishers, but I'm less put off when the scans are still made available generally and not just held hostage.

Or when you get a group like Galaxy Degen that explicitly hoard series and only post on here infrequently or when someone tries to jump their claim.

But with that said, this translation was a lot rougher. Maybe they could work with Bagek to cooperate and make a better translation with less individual work?
