I am glad it is ending just so the believers that thought he was doing something revolutionary and blindly trusting the process could face the harsh reality that this gimmick was not successful at all, and led to no interesting ideas or anything that doesn't exist in just about any traditional romcom.

This really just feels like the author got too confident after Senko-san and the editors let him experiment and do what he wants.. it lacked direction or conflicts that were interesting to watch getting resolved.. The only interesting conflict was the love triangle and it was essentially... "dodged". Otherwise it is not like this is the only manga about a highschooler mangaka that can't take care of themselves, I am really disappointed that this is all this manga amounted to... I expected more from Rimukoro

Pretty much, the idea of poly is SO fucking stupid and I REALLY wish they'd stop trying to make it work like FFS it has like the highest rate of failure even in our world

the ONLY moment that harems actually work is in a fantasy setting like with elves and shit OR with royalty so like rich people, ancient family etc

but NORMAL PEOPLE trying to do harem/poly that shit does NOT work so its no wonder why this series is ending in failure

I think my biggest issue about romance in general is the DRAMA is so PAINFUL, doesn't matter if poly,gl,bl,straight,harem etc
but I think poly just tends to 100% have the most consistent painful drama hence why I hate series with Triangles or squares etc

I understand your point, but I think it can be possible if things are done smart and without putting dumb drama all around.
The thing is, nobody fully explored the concept yet....and if we add that 95% of romance mangas are a race to a confession and no after, at the moment, the way romance are written, we can't have a good throuple....but it doesn't mean there can't be one

Well, the themes of jealousy and self-doubt write themselves, when you are writing a poly, especially if the people in it aren't "everyone into everyone" kind of deal.

Well…it’s pretty telling that you can skip half of the chapters in the series and it has no consequence to the overall plotline, and the title is meant to be treated ironically - because the entire trouple thing just don’t feel all that genuine. He’s with the mangaka because of the girl, the girl’s with him because of the mangaka, and the managaka is with both of them because she’s a shut-in and ran into a creative roadblock, and now that she found what she thought was love, she’s gonna…what, retire from creating mangas and move out of the school (which was a weird setting in the first place)? I am not sure what Rimukoro is supposed to be cooking up here but it ended up being like…passion fruit oatmeal. Sounds exotic, a bit unexpected, but totally didn’t work.

It is disappointing to come back to this, the author should have not embarked in this journey if he didn't know how things would go, especially being a throuple, you can't just end it on such a empty note, you can't just say that things will go for the three of them, I could do that in my own mind, you need to show me how, in a way that is credible these three will make such a odd situation work, what is it gonna be once they are out of high school? How are they going to face the public?

How would people respond to an author who is bisexual and in a threesome? What about their parents? How would that affect their career? Their social circle? How would the school take it?

Right now the readers of this (me among them) are hoping for the throuple to happen, it has been hinted since a long time, so far both girls have admitted to loving him (between themselves), my problem would be if it just end once they get together, which....sigh I expect for that to be the case.

None of these actually do it, its either a love triangle o r it just feels like they would go over better than it does here.

• Shishunki-chan no Shitsukekata I think they make a throuple in this but its mostly just smut so I'm not really "reading" it.
• Kiyo in Kyoto: From the Maiko House A childhood friend love triangle that ends on an implied ending but if they made a throuple it would have felt like a natural conclusion.
• Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hougen Sugite Tsura Sugiru Transfer student in the middle of two childhood friends, they have a good triple dynamic.
• Gal ni Yasashii Otaku-kun probably the weakest one here. Same as above but its an Otaku with just too close friends.
• Gals Can’t Be Kind to Otaku!? Strongest one here. Same as above but they go out of their way to dive deep into each relationship and how their dynamic works. Still unlikely to end up that way tho.

If you want to be super specific love triangle would work better than harem for most of them, but the point is that they getting the feeling of multiple people caring about and thinking about each other equally down pact.

Honestly, as much as it sucks that it’s already ending, I don’t think it’s a bad place to do it. We’ve gotten a decent amount of chapters with them in their relationship, Shijou’s finally managed to find her sense of self worth outside her ability as a mangaka, and the seeming one-sided vibe I’d been getting from the throuple part initially feels like it was taken behind the barn and put down with an automatic firearm after the last chapter.

So, yeah, while I’d definitely want to see more if given the opportunity, things are just sort of all around nice now, and as long as everything stays nice for the ending, I reckon I’m ok with it.
