Yes, remembered, but why would they care about it? It shouldn't have any emotional connection whatsoever to the current emperor. The current emperor's house was the winning one anyway. The loser, such as house Claudia, on their part might indeed bear a grudge the size of Olympus Mons. But that's because of this unreasonable suppression lasting millennia. For the current emperor, it's like: "My grandfather or great grandfather handily beat these people thousands of years ago." Like what kind of negative feelings could he possibly bear at all toward house Claudia? It's all about the soul crushing corruption absolute power has brought upon the rulers. No lives, save their own, has any value whatsover.
