Japanese romance authors could not go against the grain to save their life. They have have to make the most doggy doo doo cookie cutter plots because its all about sales and in their greedy shitty writer brains cliches sell. Actually so braindead.
the sad part is they DO SELL because otaku are well... otaku, and that's the slop they crave. :aquadrink:

Mmhhh, nah.
Not really there's A LOT of series full of cliche so much you can make bingo cards about them and many of them come and go, unknown to us they fade into the dark because they neve took off.

The thing is isn't just the japanese that eat the slop, it's also the industry that pushes it to keep those cliche alive.
For example the tsundere era is long gone but that also came with the Isekai trend which gave plenty of room to aspiring writers to work around with, for example Zero no Tsukaima, one of the original slops, many liked it and few predicted this would take the wrong turn. Many Louise alike characters that ended making the tsundere type into something toxic people grew to hate after it up to a boiling point.

Just imagining the slapstick comedy bit that has unfolded before MC's eyes so he knows every slippery spot is enough to put a smile on my face 🙂

Has the author dropped the "see into the future" thing? It's playing a much smaller role than you'd expect from a super power.

Story repetition is to a great extent a cultural thing in Japan. Things like jidaigeki shows can go on for decades telling the same story hundreds of times with only slight changes.

The industry is just following market trends rather than trying to manufacture them. A glut of the manga of this sort that've been published in recent years are light novel adaptation, and barring established authors, almost all light novels I've come across in recent times are adaptations of popular self-published web novels from communities like Narou or Kakuyomu, and those are entirely consumer-driven.
Despite shifting trends making them less prevalent, a bitchy tsun heroine is still a staple in works in those communities. Otaku like what they like, and even if they're not hyperfixating on it at the moment, it never really goes away completely.
It's as pointed out by

more than likely, a difference in cultural values that causes this strict adherence to cliches and tropes that we as a foreign audience are sick and tired of seeing.

It will come back here and there. So far, to be honest, I don't really see this "future sight" thing as much of an OP power for the MC here, as he can't control when it comes up, and it seems to only gives him a very short glimpse into the future to the point where by the time he tries to process what that vision is, he's pretty much at the time of the event and can really only make a snap decision.

I didn't say the MC was OP, just that precognition is a superpower -- which it definitely is.

honestly, the precog is just a flimsy handwave for why the protag would be compelled to act in strange or seemingly irrational ways as the plot demands. A more experienced or determined writer might've been able to figure out ways to contrive situations where said actions are the protag's only or most rational choice, but this one took the easy way out with "I occasionally see short, very vague snippets of the future."

Brother, he had to save her at least 3 times in that short amount of time. They're perfect for each other. Girl whose likely going to be isekaid x Guy who can see the future.

I hope that bitch gets NTRed by MC kek :smugnako:

Ngl tho atm my fav is Sana because she's hella cute, 2nd best is Nanami, 3rd best is I guess sports girl but sadly we've barley seen her, 4th is MC's aunt, 5th is teacher, 6th MC's male friend and last place is the bitch god I hate her

I legit can't believe if the author would make the bitch as the winner then again it would be MAD TYPICAL of JP author to chose her as the winner since she has the typical quality they love, SUPER ASS TSUN thats a bitch AND long black hair.....god I hate that type of girl in series :shamihuh:
Japanese rom com harem authors just love to cuck their readers. :haa:

“Kurase! I’m hugging you because the trail is slippery!”

”Kurase! I’m kissing you because you could have tripped on that rock!”

”Kurase! You’re pregnant because it gets really muddy up ahead!”
Gold star for you, funniest comment on Mangadex this year :win: :kek:
