Taya has mentioned she doesn't actually need sleep, so when she "naps" she's probably just resting with her eyes closed, or in energy-saver mode because it's cold. Taya doesn't seem averse to just idling for long periods of time.

May be unrelated depending on how magical the author wants it to be, but irl spiders take "naps" to rest (particularly when it's cold or when waiting extended periods for prey), but they can't close their eyes or enter any type of REM sleep, so they are basically dozing gently while being really sensitive to their surroundings still. Really neat! Other bug like creatures do similar things like ants, though ants tend to just take like 10 minute power naps regularly while Spiders can enter this weird catatonic state for a longer time if necessary

Maybe, I don't think they're natural though, her external flesh is just a disguise when she's not in her spider lady form so I'd say they're probably just slits to allow for easy transformation between forms, or just a part of her camouflage pattern, or she chose to add stretch marks to her human form for realism. Either way twas an adorable chapter.
