Not 0, she is in the negative now, as the forced liquidation didn't work properly in the EURCHF crash before it is too late.

So 101 million yen in debt

idk how thats possible cuz it sounds ripe for abuse

some guy can just have a homeless guy be on the other side of hte trade and make the homeless guy lose 100 million and he gains 100 million, homeless guy declares bankruptcy or whatever and they each split 50m

in normal condition you would be forced to sell once your account reaches 0 (actually you need several% deposit so you'll still end up with positive amount of cash)
this "0" line is what mochiko saying about 1.16 price line, however no one offer to buy at that price (which means you can't sell your asset at that price) which forced kurumi to sell at ~0.85 and end up with negative cash

No, the money still has to be borrowed somewhere.

In this case, Kurumi initially had 18 million, and made an x24 leverage (basically borrowing to 24 times the amount you have) and got total of 432 million to buy, it still has to be borrowed from someone.

Normally she would just be forced to sell when she loses more than her initial 18 million (price falling down to ~1.16).

But in this case, no one was willing to buy, so the forced liquidation is useless, and she ended up in debt.

Congratulations, you (re)discovered bankruptcy fraud!

No there isn’t much abuse possibility here, what you’ve proposed is basically a much more convoluted version of bankruptcy fraud where there are much simpler options that aren’t tracked and audited by the SEC
